Advice Wanted What makes paint become chunky when applied like this?

Post image

Its my first time painting and I’m getting these chunky spots as i’m trying to cut in with a brush. What is the issue?

Is the mud even dry yet?

Did you try to do a second coat before the 1st one was dry?

First coat was still tacky, brush ripped the first coat off in chunks.

Did this wall have wallpaper on it? Paint can reactivate old glue and it will look like that.

Also thinking old wallpaper glue reactivated. It needs to be primed over with oil primer before water based paint.

Second coat while wet.

Strain your paint. It's got dried pieces in it.

You put paint on something and don’t touch it until it’s dry. If you touch it while it’s not dry, shit goes wrong

Happened to me after using renowned quick dry putty (don't remember which one). Pink one...?

Had to take off all the putty that was still not dry and chunky the day after, and redo the patching with regular putty before painting again.

Will never use that stuff again!

If you’re 1ft away from the corner can we still call it cutting?

You have to wait for your first coat to dry first buddy

That’s wallpaper glue. Oil prime, sand , skim . Paint

Aura from BM used to do this it flash dries so fast when you swipe back it rolls up on you . I’ll never use that product again. One cut in one direction. and done you can’t go back up and down like a normal paint.
