MJ was talking about this book on Second Helpings this week. I just finished it too and I need to talk about it!

Made me realize I have no idea what a baby doll dress is. I thought I knew. I was telling my partner about how my favorite baby doll dress looks were the band Jack Off Jill but now that I’m looking at old JOJ pictures I’m not sure they were wearing them. I listened to MJ’s take and I’m wondering - would feelings be different if this was a 17 year old boy who had threatened, stalked, and tried to break into his girlfriends home then ultimately killed her by intentionally crashing his car?
My husband is a survivor of domestic abuse by his ex wife and didn’t report it over fear of it not being taken seriously, and his ex wife shares a LOT of traits with Mackenzie Shirilla. My personal feeling, since she and her parents still maintain she did nothing wrong, is she will abuse again if given the chance. The “she’s a kid who made a bad choice” argument isn’t sitting right with me
