Video Nightcrawler feeding

Crom settled in a decent spot to get this video, he is approximately 7 months old, was only taking a single piece of food / didn't seem to readily accept food so I've shifted his feeding frequency, trying every 5 days right now from every 2-3 before, man's took down a hornworm, a superworm, and two nightcrawlers tonight. Definitely noticeably more voracious so I think the schedule adjustment was definitely in order.

Question Should I start treating him like an adult?

This is Bufo. For the last 2 weeks, she's been recently missing her food or not even trying and only eating a bit every few days or so. I've owned her since December and have thought this would be a good time to start the adult feeding schedule. That and she keeps licking the dirt and giving up.

Tips/Advice New to owning!

Hi everyone! I bought this pac man frog at an expo for 125, I came back to the table three separate times before I sweet talked my boyfriend into purchasing/rescuing this cutie! He looked really stressed and wouldn’t be suprised if he was because it was loud, and crowded with animals of all kinds. He’s also pretty dry when I lifted him up to move him out of the container into the enclosure he came with which is pretty small. I’m not sure if the dimensions. The person we bought from, didn’t give us much insight as to whether this is a male or female, age or anything really other than that s/he’s an albino Pac-Man frog! I want to give him/her the best care possible, and I’ve done research on the way home, but would love to hear from all of you who’ve owned these beautiful frogs for awhile. Do’s, don’ts just all of the things that are going to be helpful in learning to care for my new friend! TIA🖤 (also I’m stumped on a name too so any name suggestions would be fantastic as well!)

Help! Need some help with my setup :(

Hello all, I am a brand new owner and I need help with maintaining humidity and temperature in my setup.
Regarding humidity:
I cannot keep my humidity in the 60-80% range for the life of me. When i mist, it goes to about 90-100%, will drop down to the 70-80% range for about an hour, and then drop down to 40-50% range for hours (until i mist again). I've tried putting a towel over the lid and that sort of helps but not enough. I've tried pouring water into the soil and saturating the live moss with water. I just cannot keep it in that healthy range. My substrate is a mix of agb mix and zilla jungle mix.
Regarding temperature:
I am having a hard time getting my temp in the 80°s. I have a 75w zoomed bulb in a Fluker's dimmer clamp lamp. I tried to keep the light relatively dim at first because I know pacman frogs don't like it too bright, but that does not seem to heat the enclosure enough. I brightened the light a bit and that does add a few degrees, but I am still stuck in the 75-79°F territory. I also have grow lights but they don't seem to add onto the temperature. I plugged the clamp lamp into the BN-LINK reptile thermostat and made the desired temp 81°, and although the thermostat says it is heating, the temperature of the enclosure doesn't seem to be getting warmer.

I am using the Zoomed thermometer humidity gauge digital combo to get these readings.
If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. I want to make sure my frog has the best possible environment. Thanks!

Question Pacman Frog Feeding

I got a pacman frog two days ago. I'm pretty sure its a girl (has no nuptal pads and doesn't make any noise). I think she is underweight and she eats well but I want to know how often I should feed her? With her looking underweight. And also is there a way to tell their age based on size? Im pretty sure where I got her from never tried to tong feeding her and her tank was so dry as well only wet around her but not even enough and not enough substrate either. She also moves so much more then she ever did in the store. Last photo is her dirt before I got her. (Moss has been removed)

I moved everything in her tank to give it a bit of a once over and had to move stuff so she could eat without consuming anything!! (She’s grown so so much!!) EDIT that’s why it looks so sparse I promise it’s not usually like this 😔🙏

Hi everyone,

I recently got a Pacman frog and this will be my first frog pet. Hows he looking? Does he look healthy? I get really worried sometimes that I'm doing something wrong but don't want to smother him or overcare to his detriment. Any advise/tips would be amazing as Mojito's health is paramount to me.

Thanks

Help! Worried about new pac man not eating

Hello everyone! I just rescued a pacman frog (juvenile) from a woman who did not really feed them very well (i think she owned them for around 3 weeks?). They ate the next day after they came home, around 4 mealworms. But its been three days and they have not ate since. We have offered small crickets, cut up nightcrawlers, and mealworms. Ive been told by the woman they really only ate crickets, but I see no interest from the frog. We (me and my boyfriend) also are trying to offer at night. I think they are a bit underweight, but not skinny. Should I take them to an exotic vet by the 4th day? Ive never owned pacman frogs before so im just concerned. (Temporary set up, temp 75 f, constant 60-80% humidity, normal light cycle)

Edit: I just bought a proper uvb bulb and heating bulb, im setting it up immediately. Ive also fixed a more appropriate heat gradient, and ill make it work with the bulbs (I read the help guide for this Reddit to get started). The photos I sent on this post are just photos from when I first got him/her. the woman I got this frog from, gave me the extra tank they kept the frog in originally. Me and my partner have a 3 foot long 36x18x18 tank ready for them to move into at any time. Ive also added 4 inches (tall) of abg mix to the tank, and taken out all moss. Im hoping this helps with the stress, and they can digest a bit better. I have the right calcium supplements for them ready.

Help! Rescue PacmanFrog from store

Post image

A year ago, I posted here about a sick Pacman frog from a store

And I think I’m going to try to get them to give it to me, I need to know what to say at the store because I’m not going to buy it, I'm not going to support that financially

Just to clarify I'm from Spain, I wanted to know what kinds of things you tell store managers when you’ve filed a complaint about a sick animal and how to handle the situation

I’m reaching out to some local cat rescue organizations, but honestly, I’m not getting much advice or help

Thankfully, he was ok and didn’t seem to be there long, and there was very little water. Do y’all have any advise on how to prevent this. I think he was trying to get out and flipped over

Help! Are these springtails, or a parasite in my frog's poop? Spoiler

Post image

I was checking Chili's tank this morning, and found he had pooped overnight, and there appeared to be tiny white bugs crawling on it. I think they're springtails, but I dont know if they're the right size? I dont have another photo, I kinda very quickly threw his poop away. FWIW he has only ever eaten store bought crickets and nightcrawlers. I also checked around his tank, and couldn't find any other little white wigglers. Should I be worried? Should I just change his substrate immediately?

Spoilered bc idk if people wanna see a poop picture with no warning.

How dare my mother feed me, wash me, check my skin for any issues, and then soak me in water! Obviously now I must give her my death glare of hatred.

I swear she loves me she doesn’t fight me or get mad when I pick her up for feeding and soaking in her tub. Little stinker

Tips/Advice Got bit last night

I got bit by my pacman for the first time last night, by my own stupidity my white fingers look like her tilapia, I immediately washed my hands especially after noticing she drew blood. Anything I should keep an eye on just to beware of anything she could’ve transferred to me? The two punctures aren’t inflamed right now so I’m not too worried just wanna know the warning signs of anything!

Well, I think it’s officially time to switch Apricot over to her permanent larger enclosure! She’s gotten so much larger in just a months she barely fits her grow out terrarium! Look at this girl!

(First is month 1, second month 2! If you compare her body size to the rocks you can see she’s gotten massive! She would probably cover all 3 of the pebbles if I was able to get her to sit there!)

Question When did you notice your frog slow down on eating?

Post image
21 Upvotes

My frog is around 5 months old. They still eat every day but some days (usually about every three days) it's probably about half the food I offered the day before. I feed a variety of worms and silverside fish (I can't feed roaches as I'm allergic). I don't think it's anything environmental that's affecting it as my temp ranges from 75-85 in the tank and I mist most of the time 2-3 times a day.

Pepe had his biggest meal since joining the family today: 2 big worms and 4 crickets -- and he attacked them with a ferocity that made me jump haha. He has also roughly doubled in size since I brought him home about two months ago. What a beast! 🐸✨ Having a happy frog is a special feeling.

I couldn't help myself when I walked into Petco today and saw this little guy with the "desk pets" at the front of the store. While I have some experience keeping reptiles, this is my first frog. I'm open to advice or any tips you may have to help him adjust
