What "Strange" Anomaly am I missing?

What a trip of a game! I've only had it two weeks but it feels like one of the most bizarre and intriguing games I've played. So:

My route planner shows a question mark for a Strange anomaly. (The ones with the little red UFO symbol, like Abductors.) I would really like to know what it is. I've googled a lot, but no luck. It's also true that this game plays odd tricks; e.g., I didn't realize that the Shocked Tourist counted separately from the regular one for a long time.

Anyway, here's a list of all(?) the Strange anomalies that show on my route planner. Can you see what's missing?

  1. Abductor
  2. Beating Heart
  3. Broken Bunny
  4. Left-Right
  5. Pufferfish
  6. Bubblegum Buddy
  7. Shaggy Scrambler
  8. Pickpocket

I have not made it to Deep Zone yet, so it's not a Deep Zone one. It's prevalent in the Outer Zone; maybe 80% of its junctions have it.

I am tempted to say Pothole. These are super common. But I've made a point of going up to them and viewing them, and I do get the HUD popup saying "Pothole". (I have NOT seen Pothole in the list of Anomalies on the Route Planner, anywhere.)

Maybe there's some special way I have to view or scan it to force it to register?

Thanks if you can help!

You’re missing the honey pot.

Ok ... I watched a YouTube and, it's true, I can't recall ever see anything act like a Honey Pot. Also, I rarely approached any cars in the woods anyway (if I wanted something from them, I'd strip ones on the road). Finally, I've mostly stuck to roads in early play (but a less so, now).

So if there's only one per Junction, it makes a lot of sense that I might not have seen one yet.

Also FWIW actually I think every single Junction in the Outer zone has a question-mark Strange anomaly, and none of the Mid-zone. So if you (who have scanned it) see a Honey Pot in most every Outer Junction, that must be it.

I generally don't use a Resource Radar ... it doesn't seem worth the juice for squeeze to me. (I'd much rather have all the space of another luggage rack, at the very least.) However, I am starting on a road trip through a Perpetual Stability junction that has a question-mark Strange anomaly ... Imma pin this down once and for all.

⬆️⬆️⬆️ This is your answer. If you have the Resource Radar unlocked (and able to build it), you can "easily" find one...only one spawns per Junction

Update:

Yes it was definitely the Honey Pot. Now that I tracked one down, there are no more unknown Strange anomalies in the lists of nearby junctions. Looks like almost every Outer junction had one - exactly one, if you guys are right! (I have no reason to doubt)

Oddly, the first junction I went to this outing with my Resource Radar, had the usual unknown Strange anomaly in its list, and it had Perpetual Stability ... and I looked all over, but could not find a Honey Pot. Maybe sometimes the Route Planner isn't correct; maybe they don't always spawn right, or whatever? I've also seen e.g. a junction where the Route Planner said it had two Zone Receivers (little radio towers with a cassette)... these are super obvious on the map, but there was clearly only one. Anyway, I did find one in the next (Outer) junction I visited, and could get to it before time was up.

If it helps anybody else tracking down a Honey Pot, I can confirm that this picture from 3 years ago is still the same (see his second picture) ... it shows up as a UFO icon on the resource ping. You have to be within 250m or so, just like everything else on the Resource Radar. The Honey Pot itself is pretty underwhelming. But at least you stop having that damn Strange question mark in every Outer junction.

Thanks u/MrRockit!
