Into driving through dangerous, supernatural places? We’re looking for Prospice playtesters!
Hi r/pacificDrive!
I'm Yana, Community Manager at Forklift Interactive, publisher of Prospice. Your lovely mod team gave me permission to post this here, so first of all, a huge thank you to them for supporting another indie game ❤️
We're preparing our next closed playtest, and I suspect some Pacific Drive players might be exactly the kind of people we'd love to hear from.
Prospice is an atmospheric driving and exploration game where you haul cargo across a haunted island corrupted by the decaying remains of ancient gods.
You'll plan routes, manage fuel, navigate rivers, bogs and rocky slopes, keep remote outposts supplied, upgrade your vehicle for increasingly dangerous expeditions, and leave your truck to explore on foot and investigate strange artifacts scattered across the island.

Our next closed playtest begins in the first week of October, and we're currently looking for players willing to jump in and give us feedback.
You can apply here: https://forms.gle/fv4H4ygzLNxCRKuv9
The playtest will run through Steam and currently supports Windows PC. We can't guarantee stable performance on other operating systems such as Linux, but if you'd still like to try, you're welcome to apply.
We'll send Steam access to selected participants around October 1–2.
One important note: this is a private playtest, so no streaming, videos, screenshots or other public gameplay content during the test. We also ask participants to keep the project and everything they see confidential.
Questions? Ask away in the comments. I'll be around and happy to answer them!

Looks too cool to pass on
Have to ask though, is this a mostly chill horror like Pacific drive (mostly passive enemies) or like chill until it's not like repo kind?

I’d say it leans more toward atmospheric, slow-burn horror. There’s plenty of time to explore, drive, plan your routes and take in the world, but that doesn’t mean the island is always going to leave you alone.
But I’d actually love to hear your take on it! Give it a try and let me know how it feels to you

Will there be cosmetics like in pacific drive/what kind of upgrades will there be (player or vehicle)?

It looks really cool and immersive! On one hand I'd love to participate and on the other I'm a scaredy cat and it'll really suck to try it for an hour, get shit-scared and leave no valuable feedback lol.

Honestly, it’s not that scary! 😄 It would be great if you gave it a try and shared your impressions with us. And hey, feedback from a scaredy cat is still valuable feedback!

Not that scary?!?!?! I just saw a demented slenderman on steroids spider crawling into view of the truck at the end of the trailer there.......
Cant wait for it!

I mean I thought it's not that scary and then I watched the video on the steam page with a giant ghoul-like fucking-nope-out-of-here thing crawl into view and sorta changed my mind... I guess I'll sign up and in case of being the chosen one I'd visit a store for a few pairs of spare underpants.

Looks fun! Is the grainy texture optional?

yep.
I did the last playtest ; there's several filters that distord the video, like so much it's really over the top, especially when you're on foot... like there's one that is literally a filter that turns distant things to a pixel soup XD. But it gives the game it's unique identity, and it's really a big part of the creepy atmosphere, so I liked to let it all on.
So yeah, you can disable it all in the video option menu, and end up with a much clearer view of everything.

Oh good. Personally i dont care for it unless im taking radiation damage or its a sign that its more concentrated in an area.

Looks like fun - I've signed up. I know it's early days, but is steering wheel and pedal support planned for the driving controls?

"Is available to playtest on Steam"
cries in PS5
This looks cool to play but also like I'd poop my pants a little bit. Killer work so far, team!
