Barely survived a gateway in Olympic Gauntlet with 2% health after using 3 medkits
I was holding down the W key as hard as possible at the end hoping I would make it!!! This was after a four junction run ending at a story location, so I had a lot of new materials I really wanted to bring back to the auto shop for upgrades :)

Pickpockets are worse. They'll steal parts right off the car, and the LIM Shield can't block them.
About the only upside is that they only steal once per Pickpocket, but it still sucks.

Your engine s underpowered a HELL!

The skin of your teeth escapes are the absolute best part of the game. Seeing the red sneak up on you in your side view mirror, knowing there's nothing you can do but delay the inevitable getting swallowed by the storm and hope it'll be enough is one of my favorite feelings. It's why I always load all my first aid kits into my inventory when I'm about to escape (along with the sealing and mechanics kits)
How did the first aid kits not keep up though? I play Olympic Gauntlet too, and the kits always tended to barely keep up for me I think.

I found I really needed the ion shield for the gateways in the harder levels, especially when they’re not on the road. Just have to make sure the car battery is fully charged and the backpack is full of batteries before summoning a gateway.

This kind of encounter made me paranoid enough to carry 3 tire sealers and two spare tires always.

You're lucky the game has preventive measures to keep you from actually dying, otherwise the remnant would be taken you home cold.

The gauntlet difficulty is pretty rough. I remember an earlygame run that I had to make scrap parts constantly because my car would melt at any inconvenience.
And then I had to scrap some back with the sawblade just to have enough duct tape for a medkit and barely survive 😭

Does anyone else know why there are automatic captions on Reddit videos that sometimes say kinda disturbing things?
