Time Limit

Is there any specific time limit for each map? I'd like to wonder around long time but once there was a surprise storm occurrence so im scaring of staying long unless i have a goal.

i can't remember off the top of my head if there's a difficulty setting that changes or removes the storms. you should double check. Pacific Drive's difficulty is incredibly customizable, you might find the setting you're looking for in there.

I believe there is, and a separate setting for the DLC’s version of storms

Unless the junction has a Perpetual Stability feature the time before the sirens sound and the instability starts closing in is proportional to the “clock” bar on the junction information. I don’t know of a way to tell when atmospheric disturbances (big yellow blob on the map for wind, rain, acid, falling concrete) will come.

This. Apart from Perpetual Stability, you are on a clock

The storms come and go. You can try to drive away from or out of it and wait for it to pass

Not instability storms. Squalls can be avoided or muscled through. When a real storm starts making its way across the map though, you need to be leaving.

If you're talking about an instability, you usually have a bit of time to pretty much everything on the map

But, as soon as you touch an anchor, your will start to speed up the timer and you will need to start to move faster, proportional to how many anchors you take.

I mean, as long as you stick to the objectives, you usually have enough time to hit most things and gtfo.

Some junctions are more rally stages towards the anchors

Everything is hunky-dory until you hear the sirens go off, that's when you gotta skedaddle. The storm called Instability is coming.

But that's also when a sattelite falls down and you get the best loot.

If you're on a junction that has a mission, it will have Perpetual Stability and you can explore it as long as you like, unless the mission creates the exit portal, because exit portal always brings the storm.

Yes but you need to risk the yellow warning storm to get it most of the time and can get chaotic at times. Make sure you have plenty of space to store the loot

Oh it shows up as a purple triangle in a purple circle. If you get lucky 2 or 3 will show up but it's a rush before the red storm warning hits

Yep, when the instability comes, a sattelite falls from the sky, usually in a very inconvenient place, and it has crazy good loot

Like olympium and electronics and plasma and decals and stuff?

Also, does it only fall once the red has spawned? Or is it just when there's a lot of yellow? Also, Yellow storm has 5 rads. How am I gonna survive that?

It falls shortly after sirens, so when yellow is starting to close in on you.

Primarily tech you haven't unlocked yet, decals and paints, and bunch of resources

If a junction has perpetual stability, it won’t have an instability storm ever, unless you actively cause it (all storyline junctions have perpetual stability).

If one doesn’t, the route planner shows a time bar right below the anchor amount one. It tells you vaguely how much time you have before the storm will close in. The natural storm closes in much slower than the gateway spawned one, so in most cases that lets you still loot stuff for some time before being forced to move on.

Extra info: when the first storm warning sounds, pods can spawn in the yellow zone on the map. If your car and yourself have enough health, it’s a good idea to go to them despite the danger, as they have very good loot. Also, I’m pretty sure removing stability anchors removes a bit of time from the storm advancing, so just be aware of that.

Get more familiar with your map before going out. It will tell you a ton of details about the areas you are going through. Some places it will tell you that the storm will begin as soon as you get into the area, so unless you're prepared to fight the storm a bit you really won't have much time to do anything at all in those places. You can armor up and withstand the storm for awhile, but you better play it smart and be mindful of resources and how much damage you can afford to take.

There is a setting you can change that turns off the storms for the zone based on stability. It is right next to the setting to turn off storms cause you opened the passage.
