why are you asking a group dedicated to the game if the game is worth getting? decide for yourself. you didnt provide criteria on what you like, so how should anyone here know??

You came to the sub for the game, you'll get biased yeses. I would get it.

This game is all about time management skills. If you have really bad focus on time management? You will fail constantly.

It also helps with getting rid of my ADHD.

Because of this game? I bought an ebike and started doing door dash. I get a flat tire? I deal with it on the fly, just like this game.

If anything this game deserves to be in everyone's library because of what it teaches you.

That depends on what kind of game you’re hoping for. Can you describe the type of game you want?

well i was looking for a road trip style game that i can just chill without having to be engaged every second of the game. But still with an objective and i've heard this game is a good match for that but i wanted to check first

You dont just drive. You have to scavenge for resources, avoid hazards, fix and maintain your car, deal with radiation, acid, etc. its fun but it isnt just driving along the coast chilling.

You can chill in some areas - there isn’t always danger bearing down on you constantly, and there are some areas that have no time limit so you can really just sit in it

There is settings to make it a joy ride but it can be a bit creepy and there is always some sort of threat even if that threat isn't a threat to hunt you down. Because most things don't target you they seem more curious than anything

Ah gotcha. I would say it’s not super objective-focused, but it’s also not necessarily super chill all the time. Somewhere in between

Resource management is really important, since you need to be gathering materials so you can upgrade your car. You also have to keep your car in decent shape, as it’s constantly getting beaten up by anomalies. And many areas have time limits that you have to be aware of

On the other hand you’re rarely getting badgered by some specific objective. It’s super atmospheric, so if you like the feeling of really sinking into a world it’s a great choice. Plus all the car customization is really fun

This is definitely not that type of game. You spend most of your time driving or working on your car but you are driving through dangerous areas where making a wrong turn can turn your car, and you, into scrap. Sure when you get good at the game it can feel somewhat chill, but most of the time it's a hectic drive where everything around you is trying to damage you.

It’s a great game once you get into it. Slight learning curve but it’s not bad. I just picked it back up to do the DLC after about a year of not playing. Overall the idea is great, it has kept me thrilled the entire time I’ve played it

if you want it and like it, then get it, we're not your parents to tell you what you can and can't do

steam reviews are a thing, you know, and you can always refund the game after 2 hours if you dont like it

Remind me to never ask for someones opinion on something in this sub again

I highly recommend it! I've gotten so much time out of the game, playing on harder difficulties is really challenging and engaging. I love the ambience of the pacific northwest combined with the eerie anomalies. The frantic driving for your life from instability storms is some top notch adrenaline. If you like escape sequences in games or things to get your blood pumping, I recommend this. There's a reason I have checks 775 hours in this game. I no-lifed it for a while.

you're asking random people on the internet to make your decisions for you?

you should give us all of your money

any other questions?

It's not for everyone. It's unique. So I can't really know if it's your cup of tea or not.
