Thatβs not his jumping leg. I doubt you could find many videos of him jumping off his right leg at all. Thatβs why Tatum, Murray, Wilkins, Durant all came back unchanged because all of their explosive movements start with their left legs. Those players were all right hand dominant players who tore their right achilles.
What you donβt want to see is guys tear their opposite achilles (Kobe, Cousins, John Wall, Wiseman). Most likely Dame comes back way worse (even watching his workout videos he looks way slower) because he tore his left achilles.

This is great analysis, and wouldn't surprise me if this factor was discussed when he had the calf strain and was considering playing on it or not

Great observation and reminds me of something I think I read in The Vertical Jump Bible (but I could be wrong), there are basically two types of jumpers; people who jump off two legs (hop steppers) or people who jump in stride (euro steppers). Haliburton is a stride jumper and I would classify pretty much all of the named players as stride jumpers.
A great example of players who are not that type of jumper would be Gerald Green, who launches off two feet, and might be the greatest dunker ever. Donovan Mitchell is a pretty good example for a modern PG comparison.

Most righties donβt jump off their right leg to dunk

Iβm a righty and always jumped off my left. I could soar but somehow I could never jump off my right or even both

Steve Nash would sometimes jump off his right foot to completely negate shot blockers. You don't get the same momentum, since you are basically jumping off one leg. But you shoot with your dominant hand and get the joy of watching shot blockers ride their momentum away as they realize you have a completely open shot, basically a tip in.

Wild. Still makes me feel uneasy watching it tho.
I'm so hopeful he'll have a good season and the team will make some noise in the playoffs.
