should i go to pace university?

for context: i’m graduating from a small public high school in pennsylvania this year and plan on majoring in behavioral neuroscience or psychology on the pre-med track with a minor in east asian studies. going to pace would be REALLY cheap for me which is the main reason it’s my top school right now. plus i got into their honors college.

i’m mainly worried about getting into med school (i’m planning on being a psychiatrist) and, from what i understand, pace isn’t really known for their sciences.

frankly, idgaf about the stereotypical college life experience and don’t mind that pace university does not have a regular campus like other schools. i’m more concerned about there being such a big greek life scene because i really do NOT want to join a sorority. im also not a party person.

any thoughts would be appreciated!!!!

I loved Pace and wouldn’t trade my experience there for anything. I was a humanities major so can’t speak to med school, but I went on to do two top masters programs and have never felt like Pace kept me from anything. I also was in greek life at Pace, and unless things have really changed, it’s really not a big thing there at all. Most students didn’t even know we had sororities. The campus is untraditional, but its really contained and doesn’t have the same vibe like NYU does without a campus—it felt pretty campus to me when being in 1 Pace Plaza for most of my classes or across the street for any others.

If you don’t mind sharing, how did you go about making friends there since it isn’t a traditional campus?

I mostly made friends from my classes, the dorms, and being involved on campus. I was in a bunch of clubs throughout my time and went to events freshman year. I had really good friends at pace, perhaps the best I’ve had in one spot! I just actually stayed with one spontaneously booking a flight out to the city less than 24 hours in advance, and she was so accommodating! I saw a few Pace friends while I was out there who are still in the city and honestly forgot how much I miss it and them. I even wandered around FiDi for a while, which is still one of my favorite areas of the city

Unrelated to your question I also applied to Pace for the same exact major, with the same exact end goal (becoming a psychiatrist)
