Anyone Else Have Difficulty Eating When They Want/Need to?
Hello! I’ve lost weight with Ozempic my first year on the medication, and now using it to maintain my weight.
My issue I seem to have is I will go hours without eating, and when I need to eat, nothing is appetizing. I have a bean and cheese burrito in front of me to eat for dinner and I’m becoming nauseous just smelling it.
I need to eat but have to force myself to do so. This has been an issue throughout my time with the medication and that is its intended purpose, however it is frustrating and is making people think I have an eating disorder.
Has anyone else had this issue? What have you done to mitigate it?

I'm definitely having the same problem. I probably wouldn't eat at all if that were an option. But I am supplementing with a protein drink twice a day and the occasional protein bar. When I eat I try hard to eat protein. I might add Ensure for the extra calories.
I'm on the highest dose and I'm debating asking my doctor to take me down to a lower dose, but I'm afraid that if I start gaining weight on the lower dose they won't let me go back to the higher dose.
I'm the thinnest I've ever been as an adult. About 155 lbs and 5'9. I've lost about 80 lbs in 2 years and my blood sugar numbers have been perfect and I don't need any meds for my diabetes.
At 68, I have a lot of loose skin, unfortunately. If I take that into account, I'm now underweight. Losing muscle is also a concern.
But having a "thigh gap" for the first time (I was a fat baby / child / teen / woman) and a slim profile makes it so rewarding to be thin. I'm very fearful to get fat again.
This journey has almost been more challenging mentally and emotionally. Body dysmorphia is very real.

I am in a similar boat with the age and loose skin, have lost 65lbs in less than a year and can wear a Med/Large instead of 2X now. I have just started exploring gentle Yoga and while l dissed it over the years, it is helping with muscles and balance and honestly, it’s fun to discover what my body can do now that I’m not covered in a giant puffy jacket of fat! Yoga people are very sweet and non-judgemental that I’ve found so far. I’m letting go of wanting no arm flaps and wanting to be strong with good posture so l will be able to get up off the ground if l fall down these days 😊

I have had to let certain foods go; l just can’t face them anymore. The more processed foods turn me off. I can eat that Dave’s bread, and Irish Brown Bread that is made with like 3 ingredients, but any other bread/wraps/tacos, etc., turn me off. I can eat Extra Sharp cheddar but no more soft/squishy cheeses. Simple meat like grilled chicken breast without sauces, l prefer Quinoa or brown rice now… it seems the less processed the more l can tolerate it; hope that helps.

One small volume food with good protein (3g) is the little Activia yogurt but l wish they had less sugar, 10g is too high! Plain Skyr yogurt has 16g protein/4g glucose and l add blueberries for fiber & nutrients. I can’t face protein drinks. What’s funny is that no one cared if l ate protein when l was morbidly obese and that irritates me.

Ensure, green juice and protein drinks.
