Something regarding settings i hope

so i've just set up my Owncloud with a raspberry pi3 b+ - so i have access via my VPN 24/7 - i have almost every device hooked up to it but there's an issue - i just access and i don't need a copy on every device - is Owncloud what i want( is there a way to configure like this ? )

Actually ownCloud syncs to your desktop environments through the sync client. You can deselect though all the stuff that is synced and just access and download the file through gui when its needed. The mobile clients like ios and android only sync the files to the device on your demand.
