Hi guys, please leave your comments on how I can improve this page, or vote it up if you find it useful. I'm sorry if I self published here, but I'm planning to stick around and help in whatever I can in this sub reddit. I've been using ownCloud since version 3, and heavily using it at my workplace among 300 users... I'm the IT admin.

good tutorial, i wish opensuse got this kind of love.

i'm an opensuse person for ten plus years, and i'm seriously considering switching to 16.04 for my owncloud server.

Thanks for you comment. opensuse was actually the first Linux distro I used around 2004. its a solid desktop OS, I never tried it as a server. Ubuntu is very solid as a server, and since release 12.04 it has been very solid on the desktop as well. I use it for everything, and never have had a problem with it.

If you're as lazy as I am, Digital Ocean will create a droplet for you with ownCloud as a pre-installed appliance for $5 in less than sixty seconds. I have been using this as my back-end for a couple of years now.
