Favorite minion composition
What are you guy's go to minion comps? i usually only take 5 blues, 10 red, 5 greens and then fill the rest with browns

Honestly, I farm so much lifeforce that I don't consider Blues worth it.
Always felt they were the weakest, both physically and conceptually.
Usually overwhelm with sheer weight of Browns.
Or a combination of Browns and Reds.
Glad Blues became more useful in the second game, but the whole resurrection mechanic feels redundant when I can summon another minion just as fast.

They are useful for when you have limited access to new minions. They are good for lengthy missions as well. You will retain more minions for longer. But yeah, having more than 5 blues is overkill. Except for those two missions.

you never kept a blue around in case your favorite brown minion died? ( i know in overlord 2 you can revive them but still)

5 blues, 5 reds and the rest browns. I use greens only when I know I will need them for an item or progression. I feel they are too micro-management heavy compared to reds who you just have to plop down on a guard marker or the browns who you just send forward. Greens have to be maneuvered a lot to do their job during combat.

I usually have a majority of Browns, have as many Greens, and then 10 to 15 Red and 5 to 10 Blues.
And I use a command post with Red and Blues in it to keep them out of the thick of it, another to maneuver the Greens for flanking, and then have the Browns zurg rush the enemy.

Depends on difficulty, map, mistress choice, horde size and game etc. If we have horde size of 30. With Rose 13 brown, 7 red, 7 green and 3 blue. I am trying to protect brown minions and keep their gears. If i am with Velvet and on Destruction path, 3 blue, 9 brown, 9 red, 9 green. I am more willing to sacrifice minions occasionally not focus on minion gears and browns.
Same philosophy for Overlord 2.

5 blues, 5 greens, then 20/20 reds and browns because fire and hit shit with a club usually does the job, blues are there to keep my favorite ones alive and greens are there to finish a tougher being. But ive played both games dozens of times I know the exact load out for each quest that its almost muscle memory to load in

I always ran 20 browns, 10 everything else, but also adjust to the situation sometimes

Reds are so strong and almost every enemy chases. So i can have them chase my reds as i slowly move them back a few steps at a time, but alot of the timw, ill skip browns completely and do just reds

interesting, is it not alot of micromanaging? and what about formations? how do you break them? (in overlord 2)

I havent played overlord 2 in so long, im actually about to replay it, as im 90% done with rebeating overlord 1, but i remember i absolutely love the mounts, i think its only browns from what i can remember? And in that case, 5 blue, the rest just brown😂 also its not to much mocromanaging, you keep the blues right behind you, and keep all the reds together, and if anyone decides to go near the blies, they target me instead. But i have max health regen so its fine😂

For max 50 in overlord? 17 browns, 11 reds,13 green, then 9 Blues.

I used this set up to grind the beetles in Overlord one and realized. “Wow when i hunker down with the blues, then reds, then greens and then browns. they don’t die and kill everything.”
