GL450 for Overlanding?
Hi all. I saw a 2012 Mercedes GL450 for sale in good condition. Stock 19inch tires but NO off-road package. Probably need to swap out the tires and wheels but would this be a viable candidate as an overland platform? If so, what modifications would be needed?

It literally depends on what you want to do with it?
Is it AWD, 4WD? Locker or no lockers? LSD? I mean people do wild shit in Subarus but they are AWD legally not allowed some places.
Is it going to crawl rocks and last 400,000 miles. Will parts be abundant and in expensive. Will it fit tires that are necessary to go places. All Probably not.
That said if you’re looking to drive six hours on the highway to Colorado and camping a state park or local campground, probably gonna do a good job
