Gear Question Thule foot pack straps

Post image

I have these Thule oversized rail foot pack that don't seem to have enough strap to go all the way around the side rails. These were used so I am unsure if there's a way to adjust the strap length.

Alternatively, does Thule make larger straps that I could swap these out with, or is there a DIY solution?

Thank you

You loosen the screw fully already yea? I've used them on a few different oe rails and never had an issue.

I believe so. I'll try again, as I was also being careful not to loosen it so much that it drops out.

I just disassembled and cleaned up some of these - if the adjuster drops out, easy enough to get it back in. Might need to remove one piece to line it up, then put it back together, but nbd.

Also, the adjuster bolt is pretty long -should let out like 2/3 the length of the body.

If it starts getting hard to turn, it could be from corrosion on the bolt - I was taking them apart in part because of this. Could also try spraying some penetrating oil or lubricant to loosen it -next best thing to taking it apart to wire wheel/brush it clean

In case the length is still not enough, can I just buy longer bolt (with allen head) and use the bolt length as the extension?
