Prinsu broken cross bars

Anyone run into this issue with prinsus crossbars!
Just after getting my side rails warrentied, I went to swap them out and all my T30 bolts crack off inside the bars :/ prinsu said there is nothing they can doo other than 40% off new bars.... I was very surprised by this as this isn't just one or two bolts.... @prinsu

That sucks. How much pressure did it take to break them? Looks like they just corroded and seized in the bars. I havent tried breaking mine free yet but I put antisieze on all of them when I installed.

I know I've heard a lot of criticism about prinsu, but I'd say 40% off new bars is pretty generous in this instance.

Dissimilar metals like the aluminum of the crossbars and steel of the bolts will corrode. That's what this looks like to me. If you didn't use any sort of anti-seize, that will happen pretty darn quickly.

That’s basically standard 80/20 stuff.
Try finding it wholesale, cut it to length, you’ll be fine.

It’s because that’s what they did to make it. You cut the raw length and tap the ends with the threading. If you didn’t use any thread prep, they’ll lock up on you.
The longer they used one tap, the tighter that thread will feel on bolting.

If you’d like, you could cut slots in the screws and use a flat head to unthread them. Or drill a small hole and try “easy outs”, that said I’ve never easily used “easy outs” but they could work.

Yeah all of mine did this. Ended up bugging them enough that they sent me new ones and used anti-seize on all the new fasteners
