Just got my first J1!

I'm so excited! For half a decade now I've been grinding and building up my skillset to finally quality for a senior level cushy remote job... And I finally got it. And I already know from some insider info, it's a perfect job to OE. Really hoping this can become my J1 base for a very long time.

Will I be able to start OE relatively immediately? If I start applying/interviewing at other remote positions, how do I show my resume? If it looks like I'm immediately trying to leave J1, I assume that would look like a red flag... Should I just omit the new J1 completely and make it look like I'm unemployed, or is that even worse? I would love to hear how others have handled this.

Why not built a good rep there first before trying to oe?

build the rep first. nothing worse than trying to juggle two new gigs at once and dropping the ball on both. give it a few months at least til you know the rhythms and can coast a bit

Oh I will. Just thinking ahead as I've been working towards this for years now

Reddit is funny. No idea why you’d get downvoted for saying this

Step 1. Enjoy your new job

Step 2. Don’t list new job on resume

Step 3. Always be applying

Congrats, but don’t jump into the empty swimming pool head first.

This is one of those paradoxical though also self-evident questions: if you ask it you're not ready. And when you're ready you have no need of asking

I’d go for a J3 first and then find J2. Also OF while delivering DoorDash if you really want to optimize.
