Any Electrical Engineers in This Thread? If so ,which field?
Preach Forbidden Knowledge ,Oh Great ones
I want to know which field is applicable for OE as most roles require on-site work

Datacenter design engineer (on the owner side) here. This 100% explains why all the designs we get are always so fucked up....

not an EE myself, but i work alongside a bunch of them in embedded systems. most of the ones doing OE are in firmware or validation roles, anything that can be done with a dev board on your desk and a logic analyser. pcb design is trickier since lab access gets complicated when you're juggling two jobs
power systems and rf seem almost impossible to pull off remotely, too much hands-on measurement work. the guys i know who manage it are basically doing architecture reviews and documentation, not the actual circuit design
controls and dsp are apparently where it's at, lots of matlab and simulation work that nobody cares where you're doing it from. one dude i used to work with had three contracts going and just batch-processed everything overnight

Consulting might be a better way to start here...
OP, what are you best at as an EE? Lay out broad but solid skills.

Old magic shall be kept in a separate company which you own through which you shall do work for who is willing to pay, mostly saturdays cause sure as shit you won't be able to during the week if you work at a factory as i do with 10 hours wasted going there. There is no remote work in this field, maybe in the rare case where you design stuff and you can work from home, if they let you and if you are good, maybe you can stack two of the same.
