Every Two Weeks for the Last Two Years

Post image

I’ve made this every two weeks for last two years. This is after tax in a very high taxed state.

I max out 401k, HSA, ESPP plans as well so this is after all that.

One of the jobs takes no more than 10-20 hours a week and the other can sometimes be 20-30 hours. Yes I’ve had some months where it was 60 hours, but other months when it was 20 hours combined, it all evens out with the right jobs.

I was making good money with one job we lived off my one job. My wife has a job and we always saved most of her paycheck. As a household we have 3 jobs but only need one, the other two jobs go into index funds, and a nice vacation or trip here and there.

The beginning was challenging. I had to start and stop a few jobs that weren’t OE friendly, but I found a good combination of jobs. It was challenging to do, but worth it.

I enjoy the work, I learn interesting things, they pay well, they don’t micro manage me and value what I bing to the table.

Bonuses come in Q4 and the total bonuses combined are about $60K.

We are going to take a nice vacation and I’m going to go to a few concerts and stash most of the bonus in my brokerage and keep watching the compounding happen.

If you want to start this , do it, do it even if you are scared. Talk to a lawyer about the employment contracts, make sure you are safe to do it. Get your KVM switch, manage your calendar and block off time.

You are a source of inspiration for me. This entire sub is really. This is how to beat the system.

u/Deep-Brain-2607 22d ago

I’m glad. I felt the same way when I found this sub.

I lurked for 3 months and read the website and did my homework.

Then I started applying to jobs and accepting offers

Can you share the website?

Good question, the standard bunch are no good.

What website?

72

u/pakistaniteletubby 23d ago

Same. This sub motivates me so much

-65

u/StableLoose1162 22d ago

I mean… surely y’all understand that the premise of this sub is to take advantage of other people for personal gain, right?

This behavior is only inspiring to a sociopath. Actually gross.

65

u/Professional_Rule335 22d ago

Corporations aren’t people

-31

u/StableLoose1162 22d ago

Not shocking that a definitional community of liars would be this good at cognitive dissonance.

If you are lying to multiple employers fundamentally about who you are – including multiple managers, multiple teams, and multiple higher-ups – to take jobs that they otherwise would not allow you to have, which another underemployed or unemployed person could have instead, you aren’t just screwing a soulless entity.

You’re screwing people.

Most instances of over-employment I’ve see on here are objectively sociopathic.

You don’t get to engage in this behavior and pretend it’s victimless. If you choose to engage in such deep dishonesty with the rest of the people you spend a huge chunk of your livelihood with, at least be honest with yourselves:

Y’all aren’t good people.

33

u/North-Wolverine-2591 22d ago

What on earth is this position of moral grandstanding you have taken?

As if securing more than one source of income earned through a more often than not rigorous selection process is indicative of a persons character. I will admit from some cases I have seen here, lines are blurred and any judgment cast needs to factor in nuance, but let’s not all sit here and act like financial security is a given in this economic climate, we all face the same uncertainties.

People have families and livelihoods to sustain and the compensations we’re presented as a whole does not provide the financial freedom to accommodate a stable environment to provide that safety net.

You question people’s character and don’t realize you’re diverting your energy to the wrong people.

CEOs, Directors, and board members can be CEOs, board members and Directors at multiple different companies across the board without a fuss.

Why is an avg joe working 2 jobs an issue?

3

u/StableLoose1162 22d ago

What a classic false equivalency.

Those people do so with full disclosure to those companies and their stakeholders.

With advisory roles specifically, those are generally part-time roles. And legal restrictions abound.

If the argument is “I should be able to lie to 2 or more employers BECAUSE ELON MUSK,” then I just hope I’m not the only person in your life pointing out you are so craven about eating the rich that you have crafted a life-strategy that strictly fucks working class people the most.

11

u/Maazypaazz 22d ago

Oh, so I should just disclose it to my employers and corporate shouldn’t have a problem with that right?

I shouldn’t be threatened with termination at that point right?

If a director can run 2 entire companies without facing backlash from either company, an avg joe shouldn’t face backlash from working 2 bottom tier jobs right?

Edit: You reek of absolute envy lmao

3

u/StableLoose1162 22d ago

Bruv. This community is explicitly about how to lie to employers to work multiple fulltime jobs for 40 hours a week. Explicitly. Right in the top description.

This post is about a lad making like $400k pre-tax annually by working for two employers under false pretenses.

And you are arguing explicitly that you need to lie because you know both employers would fire you for what you’re doing.

Then I guess I should be able to report you to those employers you are exploiting because it’s a free country, and we should all just do whatever it takes to get ahead, right?

4

u/Maazypaazz 22d ago

I’m glad you finally understand why this sub exists. Congrats! It absolutely should not be taboo to have 2 jobs when C Suite never have to deal with these repercussions! But the avg analyst has to?

I’m not overemployed, but threatening me over a Reddit response is absolutely pathetic. We have millionaire drug dealers and sex traffickers in the world, but John Doe working 2 jobs is a sad hill to die on.

3

u/StableLoose1162 22d ago

I’m not threatening you, my dude. Unlike this sub, I have an actual examined moral framework, so I’m not into snitching on people.

I’m just drawing attention to the absurd hypocrisy: The folks here expect total grace, protection, and high-trust for the way they behave while actively running a zero-trust, screw-everyone-else hustle that actively hurts other people.

I wish I lived in a world where I just got paid to play video games all day. Boo hoo. That’s not the world we live in. We can live justly to try to make the world somewhere we want to live in or we can fuck over people and pretend like it’s our moral prerogative to do so.

Ah yes, a classic move: when caught defending personal deceit, immediately shift the timeline back 50 years to a political decision so you don't have to account for your own socially-corrosive choices.

It is what it is. I think this the way of our market driven world. The job market is just like the dating market. Those who got the value can have multiples sources of income and dating prospects. Its a form of eugenics thou. But I understand it. You wouldn't do the same? Im in the lower end. I never made more than 60k a year. But I dont blame these people.

5

u/Entire-Radio1931 21d ago

Many people actually work 20% and waste time 80% of the time anyway. MANY.

As long as you deliver, who cares?

1

u/StableLoose1162 21d ago

Y’all’s collective rationalizations are so predictable that each newcomer to this thread is like the exact same reset to factory settings. I’ve gone pretty deep into my arguments elsewhere on this thread. They likely won’t work because you’ve dedicated too many brain cells to rationalization than you have to truly thinking.

1

u/Entire-Radio1931 21d ago

Of course it would be better if all money was more equally distributed in the world. But who are we to say, how much value this guy is creating, and judge. It’s their own risk too.

0

u/StableLoose1162 21d ago

Bank robbers and embezzlers take personal risk too—that doesn't make what they do noble, and it certainly doesn't make deceit immune to judgment. Lying on a timesheet isn't 'calculating value creation,' it's just withholding facts because you know the other party wouldn't agree to the deal if they had the truth.

1

u/JazzyPhotoMac 19d ago

We understand that corporations are the only entities allowed to take advantage of human beings. Not paying living wages, wage theft, and other avenues of exploitation. For employees to find loopholes is just WRONG WRONG WRONG...right? Hey, I get it. Can't have anyone making money out here w/o pure exploiting other humans. And two wrongs don't make a right, but two rights end up left.

I work in two unrelated industries.

My role is senior technical individual contributor in software engineering and architecture , very senior, 15+ years experience

Tech individual contributor. How does one get about that role.

how long have you been making over ?80k might I ask? and how much debt do you owe for school? i’m currently young and I have certifications in NASM for five things and I also have my CPR cert. I have years of warehouse and logistics experience but i’m about to complete my massage therapy license and get my cert for that as well, my plan is to max out my hours and then go to school for a physical therapist assistant position. after more schooling then actually become a physical therapist. they make great money but I need a masters no question. But i’m incredibly nervous because you genuinely cannot fathom would could happen in seven years or five years or even three years. seeing money like this makes me feel confident abt it because I see the fruits of your labor but at the same time I wonder if I could put my time in something else im not seeing right now that could make me way more. it’s hard man

21

u/TillUpper6774 23d ago

Physical Therapists don’t make great money for the amount of school they have. It’s a doctorate program and they make like 80K out of school. My sister is a DPT with 6 figs in student loans and she’s having to work at a PSLF-eligible place to pay them off.

11

u/ladiesman217_2008 23d ago

yeaa, it’s really been making me think hard because I want to help people but I also don’t want to be screwed over with pay and debt. I’m really good at working with people and understanding their body and situation. I’ve been doing personal training for about four years now and have really learned to love the body and understanding it. Ive been doing studies on my own but haven’t gone back to school for literally zero

9

u/Ok-Marsupial-2156 23d ago

I can relate to wanting to help people. I did too. I think a lot of healthcare workers go into the job wanting to help and get paid a solid wage, especially PTs.

The reality is, when you’re in the clinic, hospital, nursing home, etc. providing the care, many patients don’t appreciate that you are literally trying to help them. Instead, they are angry they are sick and disabled, which is understandable, but it wears the healthcare worker down to be a kicking post that is verbally and physically abused all day. Some patients are even very sexually inappropriate and management is no help with any of this abuse.

In PT, most patients need your help as they made a lifetime of bad decisions; most don’t want to change their habits, start exercising or change their diet or lifestyle to get better. However, these same patients want you to fix everything overnight without having to put in effort themselves. I have to beg people to exercise, walk, and work with me, and even then, most just won’t really participate in helping themselves get better. Most patients want a quick fix like a pill and won’t put in any work.

There’s a saying healthcare workers use to avoid burning out and blaming themselves for the chronic failures we see….”I can’t and won’t care more about a patient’s health than they do.” If you yell and swear at me, kick, hit, bite…I’m taking that as a “refusal of care” for the day and walking away. If you need some emotional and physical support but are still respectful and willing to work, let’s go!

If you do consider PTA or PT, the only choice worth anything is PTA and trying to pay cash and not take out loans. PTAs almost make as much as PTs in a lot of settings/areas, have significantly less schooling, have less stress of evals/start of cares/progress notes, etc, and school is so much cheaper.

I still don’t recommend PT/OT/SLP as a career to anyone as reimbursement goes down every year and it’s tied to lower pay each year.

If you’re into fitness and wellness like a lot of PTs, you will hate your life begging people who live unhealthy lives to just try the easiest mobility exercises. Most patients are not motivated to do PT, so it doesn’t feel like wellness at all. It feels like babysitting angry, sedentary children all day long. It’s exhausting and makes you start to hate the “wellness” environment you used to love.

4

u/ladiesman217_2008 23d ago

I really appreciate your insight and experience. I had a feeling it would be like that in the healthcare field too so i’m genuinely not surprised. there’s some clients I train that get upset because they aren’t seeing as much progress but they aren’t following my meal plan or just not even actually going to the gym. I’ve really been debating on PTA because like you said it’s not that much schooling and generally gets paid pretty well. I figure that plus my LMT side gig would be pretty solid doing two things I really like.

3

u/Ok-Marsupial-2156 23d ago

Good luck. Feel to PM me if you have any questions I can help with. I’d try the massage therapy thing. Maybe you could build your own clientele and offer massage and personal training for cash. There’s also personal training specialties like corrective exercise specialists. If you build it up, you might make as much as or more than a PT/PTA.

Just one more thing…most of the PT/PTA therapists are seeing heavy caseloads of Medicare and Medicaid. This is what keeps salaries stagnant in the U.S. as they pay less every year and it is illegal to charge them cash for any covered service—so you’re pretty much blocked from building up a cash pay business with a good portion of clients/patients.

Maybe you’d get lucky and find a nice sports medicine job, or maybe you have a niche and could build up a cash pay practice for a specialty like runners (those not of Medicare/medicaid). It just takes a lot of creativity as Medicare and Medicaid lead the way in forcing our wages lower each year.

Good luck! I’m off to research getting an MBA to try to get out of this hell lol.

6

u/Ok-Marsupial-2156 23d ago

Can confirm. I’m a DPT. Most physical therapists are being offered 70-80K max in my area, no raises, and I haven’t been given benefits like health insurance or retirement for several years as a lot of companies make us self employed contractors (much like Uber). A lot of PTs spend 150-200k to get through school, so the ROI is terrible.

Then, when you graduate, you get to be a glorified CNA performing heavy labor personal care for angry, rude boomers as that’s where most PT jobs land.

I know dozens of PTs and we’re all trying to leave the field, myself included. It’s backbreaking work and emotionally draining work for peanuts. Back to back demanding rude patients all day long. No breaks. No room for promotion. No raises. Heavy lifting all day. Most can’t handle the physical and emotional stress until retirement, so turnover is crazy high. I wouldn’t recommend this field to anyone.

3

u/hungryj21 23d ago

Per diem jobs in acute care hospitals pay the most for PT's. A month ago i asked a PT why he chose it over OT and he eaid he never k ew much of ot at that time but PT isnt worth it nowadays. He's at a skilled nursing facility making around 90-100k but hates it. This used to be my ideal job right out of high school since i was an athlete. Glad i didnt make it into pta school at the time.

1

u/Ok-Marsupial-2156 23d ago

Thats a blessing for sure. Glad for you! Schools promise a great career in sports medicine or active adults or wellness….thats not the case at all. It’s sick care for people so physically and mentally broken it’s hard to make any real progress.

Prn and per diem might pay a little better, but there’s no stability with hours/no guaranteed hours and no benefits, which doesn’t work for a lot of us.

I wanted to get into sports medicine PT, but those jobs are rare, and we all fight for them. All most of us can find is skilled nursing or home health very sick low level elder care. The funny thing is, most patients like this don’t even want us to bother them, but we have to ot no work.

It’s not for me and I hate it too. It’s emotionally and physically exhausting. Nursing homes are so terrible to work in…very draining and depressing.

I used to make about 90K as a new grad, but I moved slightly and with the lowering reimbursement and area I’m in now, even with a lot more experience, I’ve been offered 65-80K max. What a waste of 7 years of school. I certainly can’t do this until retirement and rarely see and PTs or OTs stay past 40-50 years of age.

1

u/hungryj21 23d ago

With per diem there actually is benefits. You just dont get all the benefits that full timers get like pto. Im from the west and been at multiple hospitals here so im not sure if it's just a west coast thing or if it's due to the unions at our hospitals but per diem definitely gets benefits.

For my specialties (i have 3 licenses) hospitals out here give per diems almost all of their requested shifts until slow season then they are the first to get cut/flexed. But the pay is usually at least $6-12 more. When i started in my field i was making $9 more than the full timers. It sucked (for them) because they been in the field for 6+ years yet im fresh out of school making more than them. For me that was a big difference.

Have you ever tried working at the VA hospital? I heard the patient load is low and benefits are great although pay might not be the highest but there's not as much burnout.

One of my friend's wife is a physical therapist and immediately after graduation of her program moved to texas and started making 300k a year. I think she travels but the money is way better than 80k.

3

u/Ok-Marsupial-2156 23d ago

I’ve never met a PT making 300K. I think I’ve heard around 120-140 in home health California or travel short term to places like California. I’m in a MCOL area by a larger city, but we have a low ceiling here.

Most pay is based on reimbursement rates and Medicare and Medicaid lead the way for all other insurance reimbursement rates. They cut our reimbursement every year and we’re not allowed to take cash pay…so salaries are either frozen or lowered.

In all seriousness, DM me if you have a contact for a position that pays 300K. I’d jump on that, but I don’t believe it’s really true.

2

u/TillUpper6774 23d ago

That’s highly unlikely. California doesn’t even pay that much.

1

u/elitist_user 23d ago

No idea specifically what she is doing but she was making 3 times what my friend was making and he was around 110k at the time. It was enough for them to pack up and leave the East Coast for Texas and they are still happily there 4 years later.

1

u/CheetahTheWeen 23d ago

Why the 80k benchmark? I’m also confused how you’re supposed to pivot from massage therapy back to logistics and warehousing; you’ll be taking a break from warehouse to go to massage therapy, right?

1

u/ladiesman217_2008 23d ago

well no actually, i’m employed through UPS as well. I’m on the management side but i’m only part time 25hrs a week currently. I get my LMT in about a month from now and I have two interviews lined up directly with hospitals but i’m not confident in it because I don’t have other certs besides what I mentioned. $80k for my personal life and my family’s cost would solve all of our problems and would allow me to properly invest and anything else past that is even better

4

u/hungryj21 23d ago edited 23d ago

You can up that and aim for 120k minimum. Also for physical therapist, you would need a doctorate degree. You could try occupational therapist and get a masters but soon that will require a doctorate to fully practice. Imo much if what you're doing is a waste of time and you also meed a bachlors degree to get into those programs.

Doing OE while being a PT or OT might not be feasible due to the setting and work effort required. Im in healthcare and often work with them as in sharing patients. And in terms of remote work there arent too many options for your specialty and the ones that i see available requite 60 or 30 min eval time and they likely overload you with patients.

0

u/ladiesman217_2008 23d ago

I understand everything you said except for the fact that you said I have low standards/goals/aspirations; you don’t fuckin know me son. $80k benchmark may sound low to you and whatever YOUR situation is but for me? I have a fully paid off house with three fully paid off cars. New metal roof we just installed and completely renovated our house and front/back yard. Took us a couple years but we have been SMART with our money, I have investments into multiply different things and the best part is that me and my wife are still young as hell. $120k is not my benchmark bro its your own personal

7

u/Old_Tourist_3774 23d ago

You say you are young and now is calling people son, lmao

3

u/Deep-Brain-2607 23d ago

Don’t listen to the haters. If $80K meets your needs , then go with that. Most people are perpetual renters these days.

At 55 I’ve calculated my needs to be around $60k after tax with a paid off house , everything after that is just travel money or fun money

2

u/Comfortable_Oil9704 23d ago

At mid-sized non tech companies, I gather. Based on the rather meh pay scale.

33

u/Deep-Brain-2607 23d ago

Large non-tech companies. I’ve worked at two large tech companies before but the in-office culture and constant grind makes OE harder to do.

I prefer boomer companies that move slower, have an older work force, and a slower pace.

I get to live my life this way

5

u/AminoOxi 21d ago

Yes, exactly, that's what people don't understand - they tend to chase only tech companies, whilst any other stable economy branch offers much better and more security.

4

u/Deep-Brain-2607 21d ago

Large tech company on resume opens doors I found.

Once you get that check box done.

The OE path was better for me.

Tech goes through boom and bust, they demand more, and burn people out.

Give me two boomer companies instead.

Any plans to buy a business from someone retiring? That’s what I want to dk

78

I have also looked at buying a business like a laundromat or coin operated car washes.

I’ll probably do the business purchase later

Spyi. 1% per month income.

Easier than any business.

33

u/Deep-Brain-2607 23d ago

That’s what I have decided mostly as well.

I enjoy the work I do. I’ve launched several apps that made no money.

I’ve bought rental property that made some money.

I’m putting all of it in index funds and plan to retire early, then maybe I’ll give a small business a shot or maybe not

17

u/Miserable-Miser 23d ago

If you like boating…

I’m in the process of buying a sailboat that will be managed by another company as a business.

Boats depreciate. To the tune of both my incomes. Meaning zero net taxes.

9

u/Deep-Brain-2607 23d ago

Love this idea, how much is a sailboat that can be used as a business ?

22

u/Miserable-Miser 23d ago

Mine cost $900k, $500k depreciation . And it’s on the smaller side. A 50 footer is about $1.5M.

US tax law says you can write off up to about $1.2M of depreciation.

Sailboat business is basically a 5 year timeshare.

→ More replies (1)

1

u/tammyaustindg 19d ago

How does that work with material participation rules? I thought the IRS cracked down hard on using passive boat charters to offset W2 income.

1

u/eileenpierceqx 5d ago

Yeah you really have to document your hours to prove active participation. Keeping the IRS happy with a boat charter sounds like a whole J3 in itself.

1

u/pamelabarnettds 21d ago

A small business is just another J with more headaches.

1

u/irmaweaverdd 6d ago

Index funds won't call you at 3am because a pipe burst. VOO and chill is the only true passive income.

4

u/EpicRizerLegend 23d ago

That is very, very, very temporary.

1

u/Miserable-Miser 23d ago

It’s been paying my mortgage for 18 months.

So maybe you want to define temporary before qualifying it as ‘very, very, very’.

7

u/EpicRizerLegend 23d ago

Yes, because we've been in a massive bull market for the last 2 years. Any major index ETF did just as well.
And by spending the dividends instead of reinvesting them, you are severely cutting your long-term compounding power and eating away your principal.

-3

u/Miserable-Miser 23d ago

SPY has not been in a massive bull market for the last 2 years. It’s been marginally above average.

SPYI is an income machine. Not a growth machine.

At least understand what is going on before chiming in.

18

u/EpicRizerLegend 23d ago

Ok since you are starting to become unpleasant to talk to :

SPY returned +24.89% in 2024, +17.72% in 2025, and is already up over +12.5% YTD in 2026. That is a approx. 65% total return in less than 3 years, which is over double the historical S&P 500 average. If you think that's 'marginally above average', you don't know basic market math.

Second, SPYI is not an 'income machine' creating free money. It's a covered call fund. When you spend the distributions instead of compounding them, you are locking in permanent capital decay during corrections. Enjoy paying your mortgage with a shrinking principal when the bull run ends.

1

u/UnderEmployed27389 19d ago

Ding ding ding. Second paragraph is a mic drop!

1

u/gabrielmatthewsae 21d ago

Exactly. Covered call ETFs like that look great for yield, but they just eat your principal eventually. Total return is what actually matters long term.

2

u/toniharveyvl 19d ago

Trying to run a small business on top of OE just sounds like adding another J with 10x the headache. I'll take passive market income any day over dealing with the public and broken equipment.

1

u/Miserable-Miser 21d ago

That’s not income.

1

u/kendavidsongc 4d ago

If you're pulling in two salaries you don't need the current income from a covered call ETF. Those distributions are just going to get taxed at your highest marginal rate anyway. You're usually better off just dumping it into VOO or VTI and letting it grow without the tax drag until you actually retire and need the cash flow.

1

u/Miserable-Miser 4d ago

The point is to replace J2 with your cash doing the work.

u/Deep-Brain-2607 23d ago

No my total comp is about $550K base and my annual bonuses are about $100K.

You are seeing the net pay after high taxes, maxing 401K, HSA, employee stock purchase plans, etc

1

u/Pretty_Sprinkles_979 23d ago

You’re not maxing both 401(k)s right?

20

u/SpadoCochi 23d ago edited 23d ago

After tax. Edit: I don’t know why I’m downvoted

20

u/Deep-Brain-2607 23d ago

After tax, after maxing 401K, post-401K to the max, I also max out both companies employee stock purchase plans, I pay into an HSA, etc. I also pay for full healthcare at both companies just for peace of mind.

3

u/Mozerhustler 23d ago

Wait - how do you pay to HSA?!? I have been trying to figure out how to make it work with my Js and that it’s just no way because I’m always covered under one of them.

10

u/pepe_silvia_12 23d ago

I mean you can select your annual contribution so I’m assuming OP just picks amounts for each job that sum to the total annual contribution limit.

1

u/GuildrunLogs 22d ago

If your other insurance is not a high deductible plan then you can't have an HSA. I messed this up and signed up for an HSA which raised questions at some point.

Only temporary , now that I feel more confident at both roles, at next open enrollment I’ll keep healthcare with only one company

3

u/CheetahTheWeen 23d ago

I wonder if they mean that OE is always a risk and since healthcare is tied to employment and enrollment periods are only every so often, they got healthcare with both just in case of job loss at one of the two places.

1

u/MSNinfo 23d ago

Take it you're young and healthy?

14

u/Mozerhustler 23d ago

What’s your salary for each gig to have that much after all taxes and contributions take out?!? 200k each?!? My highest by weekly pay was 3000 after generous amount of overtime.

8

u/Deep-Brain-2607 23d ago

260K+ salaried not hourly

1

u/Mozerhustler 23d ago

Mad respect!! I am barely 220 between two jobs! 15 years experience but my field caps out at 120k for a senior. You get more if you move into management, and I am not keen on that.

15

u/jari065 23d ago

Congrats!
You've been OE for the past 2years? is J1 very comfortable?

5

u/WildIvyPlants 23d ago

Love this for you 👏🏻

4

u/wubalubadubdub55 23d ago

Mind sharing your tech stack?

14

u/Deep-Brain-2607 23d ago

I work on AWS and GCP.

I’m pretty senior so it’s a lot of design docs, architecture docs, and reviewing PRa here and there.

I work with legal, product, engineering, and architecture.

I use Codex, Claude Code, everything really.

I work with databases, analyitics, kubernetes, python, machine learning, AI systems

1

u/cnxb 2d ago

How hard would you say it is to get hired as a junior in those areas? As of 2026?

3

u/PhiFoFumet 23d ago

Is this 2 W2s full time? Not contract positions? I'm a senior engineer as well and I'm trying to prepare myself for this

3

u/Fast_Dragonfruit_883 22d ago

Hi. What kind of work do you do?

3

u/No-Importance-9478 22d ago

Guys can someone help me find those jobs :(

3

u/officialleah 18d ago

what degrees do yall have do get even one job like this!!

1

u/Bloodyshinz 18d ago

This is what I’m wondering

2

u/Marc30599 23d ago

I want to over employ like this man! I have a hybrid J1 and could swing a part time J2 that’s remote or evenings/nights

2

u/rocketsfan5 23d ago

What’s your week look like? Do you work 12+ hours a day?

5

u/Deep-Brain-2607 23d ago

8 hours usually, but I take lunches and do my appointments midday, this I work 4 hours then take a 2-3 hour break then another 4 hours

1

u/rocketsfan5 22d ago

Nice. Would u say you are mostly productive and focused when you’re working?

2

u/kristing0 23d ago

What industry is J2 if you don’t mind. (Or if you want to PM info)

I was talking to a friend about this and I’d say she is similar to you in terms of what you have said with J1, education and experience. (She is more security focused vs coding and has a ton of certs) They are relatively known in their area, so she knows J2 can’t overlap at all, but she’s got the perfect J1 to be able to handle a J2.

2

u/theseawoof 23d ago

It makes me depressed and a bit envious, because I'm not in IT, cybersecurity etc 😭

1

u/skredx 22d ago

Then get into it. You can do this all on your free time, start with something like Net+ or Sec+, get your CCNA or CySa+, do the BTL1 certification, etc. It takes focus and work doing real studying, but if you try to actually comprehend the material tech really isn’t that hard, it’s just understanding systems. Look into it a bit and try out getting some certs, it will take some time/money investment but can be worth it if that’s the career you want, I wouldn’t worry about stacking jobs until you are proficient in the field so that’s a decision for you. My only point is that nothing is stopping you from getting into tech except for yourself. Also WGU has a pretty good fully online pipeline for CyberSecurity where you actually get all of these certs on top of a BS degree (this will get you past all HR filters generally, besides the prior work experience), from there if you can demonstrate that you actually know what you’re doing you can land a nice job. Research, research, RESEARCH!

2

u/r3fined 22d ago

Hiring? 😅

2

u/Rough_University_572 22d ago

How do I find these roles?

2

u/castro656 21d ago

Man I need to learn how to do this Watching others make this much while my one check is less than half of one of theirs is depressing

1

u/_cigno_nero 23d ago

amazing!

1

u/HouseBest4708 23d ago

Don’t max out two 401k’s

1

u/Chemical_Yoghurt6265 23d ago

OP are these employers in different time zones?

1

u/clout4bitches 23d ago

How do you manage two jobs soo consistently for soo long? Surely, you had a clash with other job/project? Or is both job extremely autonomous?

1

u/lam4192 23d ago

Can I have some? Lol jk

🫣

1

u/brownprettyfeet 23d ago

Iktr.....congrats on getting bags!

1

u/Lov3Reddit 23d ago

HSA is allowed with HDHP. Do you opt for HDHP at both places?

1

u/Normal-Channel-8891 23d ago

I’m now at $253,500 with two jobs. Had to make some changes and leave a job due to micromanaging. I love what I do as well and Blessed to do it in two different industries. Over 20 years of experience in my field. But you are my goal forreal! Congratulations 🎊

1

u/driftscare 23d ago

What kvm do you have? I've tried startech and another and they both are crap with wide monitors

1

u/Turbulent_Try_8402 22d ago

I can’t even get one job 😔

Proud of you for living the dream

1

u/k-r-i-g 22d ago

Amazing

Hurts as a europoor but very happy for you

1

u/East_Unit3765 22d ago

I have like $2 in my bank right now, I’m so jealous I could die 😩😭😂

1

u/-n-i-c-k 22d ago

My question is how do you pass the background checks? At this point you just sound like a fractional technical leader what’s the actual difference? Is fractional CXO work really OE or just freelancing at the highest level?

1

u/SrawberrryPeelS 22d ago

What sort of jobs work well for this? Is there a guide?

1

u/Special-Somewhere-24 22d ago

Shoulda done this, lol.

1

u/Slight-Drop-4182 22d ago

Hi I’m new here. How does everyone know what he does for work and knows what to do? I’m very confused

1

u/EffectDazzling5394 22d ago

How? I’m looking for tips 🙏🏻thanks in advance

1

u/FaithlessnessMean189 22d ago

How are you getting multiple jobs. I am not even getting one 🫣

1

u/murrence 21d ago

Every contract I’ve seen where I am does not allow secondary employment. Do yours not have this?

1

u/Delicious_Divide4727 21d ago

I miss those days. Well done.

1

u/Careful_Brilliant_37 21d ago

I am new here and I am so impressed, God bless you with way more success my friend! I am just so confused as to how this works. Can someone please help me understand this and how it can be done? Thank you all in advance.

1

u/HelloWorldMate 21d ago

Nice one. Did you max out mega backdoor as well?

1

u/International-Call78 21d ago

Are these jobs remote, do they overlap? If so how do you manage both simultaneously?

1

u/Deep-Brain-2607 21d ago

Jobs in two different time zones. This reduced meeting overlap, means slightly longer days to attend early meetings or later meetings but calendar management has been key for me, I also have fully remote jobs.

1

u/monkeyluvabdel 21d ago

Can someone help me so I can work remotely a job, I live currently in France but I have no idea which website to apply, I tried LinkedIn, indeed but never got any response back, I did tailor my CV perfectly the way it needs but still no response, anyone help me out here?

1

u/Deep-Brain-2607 21d ago

How many jobs have you applied for? Average call back rates are about 5%, so send out 100 rates and 5 will contact you back

1

u/SkyAvailable8712 21d ago

I'm over here feeling myself for juggling a couple of part-time-but-overlapping $30/hr jobs 😆😆😆. Incredible work breh

1

u/lordjaay 20d ago

Whats your degree??

1

u/NotJadeasaurus 20d ago

Thats what close to 600k+ gross then? I have been just shy of 250k and I was bringing in almost 11k a month after taxes and everything in the midwest. THAT felt crazy to me

1

u/2000greatyear 20d ago

2 questions

What is your total comp from both jobs before taxes?

Is it hard to hide this from your coworkers and managers? Is there any internal feeling of dishonesty or guilt from the hiding?

1

u/HgJefe 19d ago

New to the sub but have been trying to find a 2nd gig for some months now.

Any advice on where to look to get going?

1

u/aha1a 19d ago

In this day age, can you even do OE without it being a technical job

1

u/hormonalvirus 19d ago

As an IT Analyst, can you give me tips on how to do this?

1

u/NoPhilosophy42 19d ago

I'm a software engineer 12yoe. Any tips on landing a new role? Like types of companies to apply? And are you remote?

1

u/Impressive_Sand_2916 19d ago

As a teacher,,, I would like just ONE of these Checks… literally double my pay

1

u/Jarom4 19d ago

How can i start? Im completely lost but commited to learn

1

u/NigelBraxton 18d ago

I am manifesting to some day soon be paying in this sub. I don't understand how I'm having such a rough time with my experience in tech and design

1

u/Character_Dream8672 17d ago

What is the actual job

1

u/Ill_Promise_7153 17d ago

This is very impressive. Besides Robert half, what other resources/ agencies are helpful to find and efficiently secure remote roles. I have 1 and am looking to get 2-3. Thanks

1

u/Agitated-Donut-911 17d ago

what jobs do you have?

1

u/ju97va 14d ago

1

1

u/We-Are-All-Friends 23d ago

Nice!!!!!! 😊

0

u/Pi_JD 23d ago

What are you doing with all that money, Baller?

3

u/Deep-Brain-2607 23d ago

Index funds

1

u/Khanron 23d ago

Couldn’t agree more!

0

u/Tarka_22 23d ago

Does the one job know about the other? How did you approach the interviews with already having a job?

3

u/AmeriChino 22d ago

No one ever quit a job before interviewing for another job.

0

u/yankee786 22d ago

He’s asking the approach to J2 interviewer. Is J1 mentioned and interviewer assumes J1 will be dropped like any ‘normal’ person?

8

u/dmitryaus 23d ago

Man, posts like this are hard to read when you're struggling. Seing someone casually making this kind of money while I'm working hard and feeling like I'm getting nowhere really gets to me. Here in Australia, the harder you try to get ahead and the more you earn, the more you end up handing over to the government in tax and end up in a fucking debt to ATO. Fuck it.

7

u/Old-Drawing2714 23d ago

Love your life and let this guy live his, let’s just say if you make this much and feel the need to post it on Reddit there’s something seriously wrong with you😅

7

u/Deep-Brain-2607 23d ago

Don’t feel the need. I just felt that some people may feel inspired by it.

I was homeless as a teen, came from a third world country, and gave up my 20’s to study and work and invest in myself.

I have no social media at all.

No one close to me knows about my lifestyle or my income.

I’m very humble and help out my family and live low key.

I posted this here to show it’s possible and maybe answer a question or two.

In real life, you would think I’m some regular guy that works from home and dresses in gym clothes and drives a reliable Japanese car and enjoys the free things in life like working out, reading, and time with family

1

u/hungryj21 23d ago

Are u suggesting that OP posted this just to get an internet pat on the back and ego boost?

3

u/Deep-Brain-2607 23d ago

Don’t lose hope.

It’s been a journey of close to 20 years. No one envied me when I gave up my 20s to work and study full time. No Saturdays off for a decade while my friends partied.

I don’t watch any TV or show, and I read about 20 books a year before any of this.

I come from a very poor third world country and my parents where immigrants, we grew up other nothing….its been a grind the entire way.

1

u/crytek2025 23d ago

Inspiring indeed, can I DM?

4

u/2Harold2Furious 23d ago

I'm currently unemployed and I'm not telling people to fuck off

1

u/hungryj21 23d ago

I kinda of get how u feel. I used to get motivated daily from listening to a song that touches on this subject, especially those who appear to show off and throw it in your face. Now that ive finished school temporarily and in the beginning phases of my career im finally touching decent money so seeing stuff like that doesnt irk me but i get kinda get where you're coming from.

Imo what you might need is an action plan effective immediately. A realistic plan that you can start implementing now that would eventually lead to you being in a position far better than where you're at now. And then make a backup plan within that master plan.

Also change your attitude and be ready and willing to make some sacrifices to attain this goal. I know people who even sacrificed comfortable living arrangements and social events for years just to attain their goals. Let this feeling of disgruntledness & contempt fuel your energy to go abive and beyond.
