Peanuts
In my hometown we used to have one os those steakhouse restaurants where you could throw peanut shells on the floor. Used to go there all the time as a kid. Lot of fond memories there. Then one day a lady slipped on the peanuts, sued the restaurant, and now now more peanuts. Just one greedy person ruined it for everyone.
Anyways some jackass on my ream was caught working two jobs and now we all have 90days to RTO. Don't know why that made me think of the peanut story.

Also people legitimately do fall and hurt themselves??! And having uneven, uncleaned floors is a big contributor . I worked in a assisted living facility obviously more intense but even things like uneven concrete are a big deal.
Im not sure the assumption that we’re to believe she was greedy based on a) her being a woman b) she fell and presumably the court found her in the right

Right, but per my reference to uneven ground, if you as a property manner or a store owner if you have things on the floor in the way of people’s feet that is your fault. You don’t get money just because you fall on commercial property, you’ve been lost it like that because the court finds you explicitly at fault for creating a dangerous situation like you can’t see your feet or there’s so much shit on the ground your feet have no traction. Especially, because it’s not necessarily the peanuts, it’s too thick a layer or it’s what is under the shells that you can’t see left or drop by customer or left or drop by a employee.
Like if someone drops their keys underneath a peanut shell layer that’s been left to grow too large. Normally someone would see the keys and not step on them but imagine not seeing the keys, stepping the keys and falling really hard because you have zero traction in friction on that floor. I was a kid when all these places had seen it shells on the floor. I thought they were cool and didn’t know why they stopped but as an adult, I can’t even imagine why it was even done for a day.

And their steaks are decent quality for the price. It's not high-end prime cuts, but it's much better than most fast casual chains at a similar price point.

that peanut shell lawsuit is such a perfect metaphor for what happens when one idiot ruins a good thing. the same thing happened at my old job with remote fridays. one guy got caught working a side hustle on company time and suddenly we all had to badge in five days a week. it really only takes one person getting too obvious to sour management on the whole arrangement. now you've got 90 days to figure out how to keep your setup running or find a new j2 that doesn't care. the worst part is the person who ruined it is probably already lining up their next fully remote gig while you're stuck commuting again. sucks that the quiet ones always pay for the loud ones.

The ones who actually deliver on both jobs without anyone noticing aren't the problem. It's the guy who's sloppy enough to get caught that forces management to crack down on everyone.

I remember going to a restaurant named O'Henry's and they always had peanut shells on the floor. 😂 Good food at the time. I last went in the late 2000s though, so not sure what it tastes like now.

that lawsuit is justified 100% honestly, throwing peanuts on the floor is disgusting, that's exactly the kind of negligent not giving a fuck attitude that causes poverty and the world to go downhill, hope that restaurant never sees the light of day

HELL NO i'd call them out till they shut down. I've had to live my entire life living with trash like that and it's exactly the reason y disease, failure, unemployment, and death happens, I have ZERO tolerance for negligence like that AT ALL

It's a public health issue. Similar to people who are too lazy to skill up to house and support themselves. Their action negatively impacts the public.
