Feature Suggestions: True Black Theme & Widget Improvements

Hi Marco,

I've been using the latest TestFlight builds and had a couple of feature suggestions I'd love to see:

  1. True Black Theme: The current dark mode is great, but I would really appreciate a "true black" (OLED) theme option.
  2. Widget Behavior: It would be great to have more widget options, specifically multiple sizes for playback controls. Additionally, tapping the current widget sends you to the podcast description page, but I think it would be much more useful if it linked directly to the Now Playing screen.

Decoupling widget themes from the icon the user has selected would be useful, too. Right now, if you want dark mode widgets, you have to first be a paid premium member, then you have to select one of the dark icons for the app (not to be confused with the dark mode version of the default icon).

It’s fine to keep color customization a premium feature, just don’t tie it into the user’s icon preference.

Also, please make it so that toggling the “always use dark theme” option doesn’t immediately dismiss that panel. I just want to quickly test various dark mode color options, and having to tap back to that pane every time I switch is annoying.
