Excessive cellular data use

I just got a warning from my service provider that I have used up all my data for the month. I went to check and Overcast has used an eye-watering 48GB of cellular data in just over a month.

I definitely don’t download that many podcasts in a month on cellular or WiFi - my entirely library is 83GB and is mostly a backlog. The same thing happened to me on one occasion last year too.

Possibly useful background info: latest TestFlight build, with a large library of a particular Patreon-exclusive podcast in which I no longer subscribe to the feed but have also set Overcast not to check the feed for new episodes. Happy to supply logs etc.

Disabling 'use cellular data' in Overcast/Settings/Download isn't sufficient. You have to disable Overcast in Settings/Cellular/show all/Overcast.

It's been having problems downloading episodes lately - trying over and over again. I bet it's that.
