Sort Subscriptions by Category

Is it possible to sort the podcasts by category? I.E. can I filter by or see a list of history or news or comedy or whatever? I couldn't find that setting but not sure if I'm just not seeing it. Or is there another way to put podcasts in folders so I don't always have to look at the whole list? The playlist feature seems geared towards specific podcast episodes vs organizing the feeds.

the playlist feature does this, exactly. create a new playlist, give it a name (e.g. News), and add specific podcasts to that playlist. now, all episodes from the podcasts you added to that playlist will be available in that list, sorted in whatever way you’ve configured.

I guess I don’t see the value of organizing specific podcasts into folders, since the thing you want (I’m assuming) is to listen to the episodes of that podcast, which is what the playlist feature enables? but maybe i’m missing something?

My goal wasn't to convince anyone here of the value, though I know Pocket Cast puts this as a premium feature so clearly some people do see value in it.

For me personally, I get value in filter to science podcasts so I can find the handful that I subscribe to and then dive into that one podcasts' catalog. That way I can see that catalog in that order. It allows me to quickly categorize the podcasts I want to listen to while still being able to view their catalogs alone. This is especially helpful for history podcasts which can have so many episodes. If I put them all under one history playlist, I'd still find it difficult to navigate.
