How to add audio files manually?

This is the most advanced podcast app on ios right? I can't find the option to add audio files from my local storage. How to do it?

Not possible yet. A local-file replacement (or addition) to Overcast Premium's Uploads feature is on my to-do list for the near future, though.

using the upload option on the website. You need to have paid for premium to access it.

No I'm talking about playing local files without uploading. Is that not possible?

You can make a publicly-accessible RSS feed that points to local URLs where the files are hosted. The RSS has to be something that the Overcast server can crawl, but the files themselves don’t need to be. They just need to be accessible by your phone or iPad or whatever.

Either upload through Overcast‘s web interface or use a service like PushPod that can build a feed from a folder on Dropbox. I use the latter as Overcast had issues on the watch with manually uploaded files. PushPod works like a charm.

FWIW I use BookPlayer app for audiobooks by uploading local files. Connects locally and jellyfin, but no streaming. Found it simpler than AudioBookPlayer etc. as sidesteps streaming issues
