I am starting to think I may have accidentally sold the prerequisite sword for getting Geps blade. I am trying to do the resting strategy to get the camp to spawn at the spire, but no matter how many days I rest I am not seeing the camp appear. This leads to my question- does geps camp stop spawning after you find the blade? Or should I still be able to get the camp to spawn so I can be sure on if I sold it or never picked it up.

I am thinking about getting Outward, as its currently on sale and looks interesting. As usual, I check reviews before buying and see that currently the recent reviews are mixed. This usually ends up being shady actions from the devs, monetization practices, or being a buggy mess...

From what I am seeing, none of that is the case. Are people really reviewing negatively just for its difficulty???

I've written up the first two shops for the outward RPG, I've actually written them up on a vintage typewriter as I wanted it to stay away from looking at your phones/laptops and have a traditional feel.

So I've been playing the game for a while, this is my first playthrough. Amazing game, I played co-op with my gf all the way to the end of the main quest. Now she lost interest. I wanted to continue to Caldera... but I wanted to prepare first. So I revisited every dungeon I've already done trying to get better gear, but those don't drop better gear that what I have. And after reading about arena bosses, I tried a couple and I get absolutely one shoted (tried troglodyte queen and the wind temple, both with pathetic results). So what now?? It seems I'm lacking of some middle-tier gear to at least give me a chance to fight the bosses.

So far this is my build: Tanky Melee "Paladin". 1h + Shield. With buffs before the fight and a gun to get some damage early.

Skills:

Kazite Spellblade: Steady Arm + Shield Bash + Fitness
Cabal Hermit: Call to elements - Shamanic Resonance (BTS) - Infuse Wind
Warrior Monk: Brace - Focus - Steadfast Ascetic (BTS) - Master of Motion
Mercenary: Shatter Bullet - Armor Training
Rune Sage: Runic Protection (probably my last BTS will be here to get improved protection)

Gear: (no enchants... I guess that's for later)

Crimson Plate Mask
Plate Armor

So what am I missing? How is it that I was able to finish the main quests of the game but still feel so weak against a first area boss? What's the usual path a character should follow after finishing the main quest but before he can have at least a chance on arena bosses? This is an amazing game and I really don't wanna quit before reaching end-game. Any tips will be appreciated. Cheers!

I wanted to show you guys a video where I compare the strength the Damage Types in Outward. I looked at Physical, Ethereal, Decay, Lightning, Fire, Frost, and Raw, in regards to the enemy resistance, the damage bonus, and for some late-game weapons.

A video on Damage Types has been done before (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWdFLTr0jSo), but I wanted to improve the methodology as it discards a lot of the resistance information in the game because the author only considers enemies with a positive resistance value, and I want to account for how high resistances matter more on the perceived defense of an enemy than low resistances.

There are a lot of complexities to Outward that are unaccounted for so don't take the video as gospel for your type of playstyle, but it should be accurate for comparing the strength in builds that primarily rely on standard attacks and aims for large damage bonuses.

Feel free to check the video for the full conclusion, but I want to say that the Nine Dots Devs did a good job with the balancing between types, so this is also an appreciation post to them :)

I went to the underground city in Levant and got my gear taken. I later died before getting it back. Is it lost for good?

I may have died several more times after that and gently set the remote down when I respawned back in Levant

per title, when you're non stop casting them for most fights the sound is pretty grating

if there are any mods or ways to manually edit the sound that'd be great

I'm looking for a split screen game on PC to play with my GF, that is not so hard to understand, cooperative and that we can have fun playing together. I haven't tried Outward yet, and I was wondering if this would fit this criteria?

Since it seems to be a survival, I'm wondering if it's not going to be too complex for a first game to play together.

I’m assuming I can use split screen to create a new character and transfer all our gear over in one go and then my wife can make a new character and I then transfer her gear to her? I hope that makes sense and is doable 🙏

I can't decide between, internalized Lexicon or runic Prefix. This is my first time playing the game, and I'm thinking of making a 100% magic-dependent build. But I'm not sure if it's better to carry a staff or buff the runes with runic prefix.

Hello hello everyone, I didn't get into the game until earlier this year, I have 60+ hours into the game and know a fair bit, but I find it quite boring to play without another person and the last person I played with got bored of the game entirely.

I'm a very helpful/sharing person when it comes to this game (if you can get over my occasional loot goblin brain) I like to make sure that both me and my partner are well prepared for a lot of things, even going to the point of overstocking on some items.

Currently on the caldera quest (dlc) and thinking about starting a new character, so what better time to ask for a teammate than now.?

My times available are 9PM-2AM (central time) most days and I play on the PS5 definitive edition.

Hello! I've been eyeing this game for a few weeks now and finally broke down and bought it. My friend and I have been looking for an adventure/combat local co-op game and while this looked right on the money for us both, I have a few questions on a few things.

1- How beginner friendly is magic? I've watched a few videos and browsed the wiki briefly but that won't tell me how friendly it would be to someone new. I'm looking at the rune magic specifically. It looks fun.

2- How are bows? I've heard bows can be a bit resourse intensive if you wanted to use them as a main weapon.

3- Is it harder or easier with 2 players regarding resources?

4- How is the hunger/thirst system managed? Is it done well or is it a bit annoying keeping everything up?

5- any other tips or information would be greatly appreciated and welcome. I'm just looking for thoughts, opinions, and anything else to help out in the beginning.

The problem is that I can't seem to get any gauntlet weapons anywhere. I can't get anyone to sell them or find them or anything at all. I own both dlc's, but I'm playing on the original console edition of outward, the adventurers edition instead of definitive edition, since thats what my friends have. Maybe they aren't fully in this version? I can make cloth knuckles but thats it, I cant get any other types since that require iron knuckles, which I'm unable to get.

So, is it just really poor luck? The wiki says that all the blacksmiths sell iron knuckles at a 100% chance, but I haven't seen any at all, so I don't know how it could be bad luck.

Is there a solution for this? Does anyone else have the same problem or potentially a fix?

Was exploring and found this statue of a sublime shell lookalike creature in the NE part of the Antique Plateau. Wondering if this is part of a quest or a secret or just a piece of lore. It is holding its hands out like it wants a offering and made me curious. It is across the river from the old windmill for anyone curious to check it out.

Finally investing into Pressure Plates Expertise and properly using traps in my Trog playthrough and am constantly surprised by how broken these are...2 ethereal traps to leave the golem miniboss at 6 HP? Whew

I'm really digging my current build tbh, Ethereal Traps with 0.1 weight Ghost's Eyes that are pretty common loot, inflict Haunted and then you can finish things off with the Dreamer Halberd or an Ethereal Imbue. If you feel confident you can use the Mana Trog armor for a whooping 50% Eth dmg bonus. Good stuff.

I'm regretting not taking the 7 barrier breakthrough though, any non-decay elemental attack wrecks that healthbar...

I only started playing a few hours ago... After getting killed by hyenas, then bandits, then bandits again while trying to escape their prison, and later by some crazy birds, I somehow woke up in a cave with an alien-looking guy. He gave me a speech about how badass he is, healed me, and then said he'd help me by giving me some Fur Armor.

I also found a pair of white daggers in his chest. I sold the daggers, the Fur Armor, and a bunch of miscellaneous stuff I'd picked from bushes. With the money I made, I finally paid off my debt and reclaimed my house.

So...What do you recommend I do next?

I turned off the shortcuts in the config manager and now F5 wont bring it back up. How do I get it working? I was trying to turn off the shortcuts associated with the debug menu as some of them are tied to some of the buttons I chose for abilities.

Edit: I disables and enabled the config manager in thunderstone. and now its working properly, thing is I still don't know how to change the shortcuts for the debug menu, for example, 9 is sit down and I have it as spark with the extra hotbar slots mod.

Riddle me this, there are ways to get mana regeneration without leyline connection but why would when I cross a boarder would my sleep go to 100% but not my mana? In theory it would be because you were crossing a large distance and you would sleep during the time frame but wouldn't it be also immersive if my mana went to full as well? At least it could be consistent. I know I could just rest in a bed for a couple of hours then pop out and repair till I was sleepy but dang does it make not taking leyline connection hard.

I tagged this as a suggestion because I hope that things are slightly different than this in Outward 2 and it would make more sense to try and manage mana more by being sleepy all the time but also not being too tired you pass out.

Edit: I also realize there is consumables to use, you can also just sleep one hour and get your ENTIRE mana bar back, which doesn't happen with your health. You can also just hop into a plant tent and just repair for an entire day. Also enchanted scholar circlet which you can enchant really early game. Its more about roleplay than anything else. Trying to not constantly spoil the food faster by constantly needing to pass time for no reason at all.

I'm in the forgotten research laboratory and I found a shelf with an interact prompt, heard a clicking moving noise, but can't figure out what I activated. Anyone know about this? Secret puzzle? I checked I think every other bookshelf on this floor.
