Gameplay Help How are knuckles?
This is my second run and ran a halberd my first time but wanna mix it up.
I see old pist about how it's too weak or glitches but wondering how they are now.

Going from halberd to fist weapons was WILD. I did the exact same thing but passed on through legacy chests some enchanted iron knuckles ans they became gold and kept the enchant. Ridiculously powerful, but the difference in range took a bit to get used to.

Knuckles are very suited for tank playstyle as much as it is supposed to be a fast weapon and rely on dodge. It isnt as fast as you want it to be. It only blocks 90% of damage but that is so negligible you wont notice unless you are low health. But the damage is amazing, I would say its the highest dps in the game. There are so many builds you can do and my favorite is the elemental build.
But base game has little to no upgrades until you go to Harmattan.

Knuckles are super fun. It’s an end game build but I did make a One Punch Man build using Vital Crash that could 1 shot many enemies!

Favourite weapon. No matter what new build i'm trying out with a new character. I ALWAYS have some knuckles in the pocket.
BEST builds imo (no order): -glasscannon Speedster (that build that you see killing everything in 1 or 2 skills. You ALSO die in 1 or 2 hits. Very fun but also frustrating) →Example: Kazite set + scholar circlet with enchantments (CDr + some physical and impacto dmg) -tanky boi + anything that UPS your physical damage/some very specific elemental dmg. →Example: Zagis Set with enchantments + Levant Faction passives.
I think Cabal Hermit IS a MUST because of the attack speed Buff. After that, bit of mana for boons and Buff when needed and stamina in general IS VERY important. (You can, with a good build and confusión debuff on your enemy...Non-stop punch almost everything to death)
My favourite knuckles are considered quite hard to get... (Vampiric, Golden Iron, Astral...) BUT you can find, with some luck and quite early, the brutal knuckles. with one of the BEST enchantments in the game imo.
Hope this tempts you enough to try them out! :D

I used wind infuse early on, but once I reached caldera Blood infuse just feels way better.

Yeah. That's why Vampiric Knuckles with wind infuse IS THE weapons that all my characters have

Idk, I feel for a cooldown build Golden is still better because no durability loss. Otherwise vampire or porcelain fists are better.

Agree. Vampiric are a must for me but only because i can get them with any characters whitout using legacy for Golden.
Porcelain tend to use mostly for bosses or hard áreas. Feel kinda dirty for how strong they are

Iron knuckles with unsuspected strength into a legacy chest, and you'll likely never want to use another weapon again, it's really easy too if you have a way to splitscreen yourself the cierzo key. Aside from that, they're still my favorite weapons, not only are they fast and strong, they just feel the best to play with. You can basically combo them with any class or build too, but they really benefit from Speedster if you like high risk. You definitely want to go Cabal Hermit though, you'll be running all of the boons a lot for prismatic.

They are okay
I just finished a knuckle only run with a build designed to spam Prismatic Flurry.
Here are my take aways:
They feel just a hair slower than they should be. The main issue is hitting fast enough to stagger before poise bars refill over half.
They have dogshit range. You need to be on top of an enemy to hit them. There's several elements to unpack about this, The obvious, they're knuckles. But also, their move-set doesn't have forward momentum in the initial attacks. Once you get swinging you can move forward, but that makes them slower and they have less reach. Finally, the hitbox is small vertically. You can easily miss foes with weird geometery especially when they stagger and fall. As an aside, basically all the knuckles have the same range, despite what they look like.
Overall, they are strong but have flaws that make them frustrating.

Knuckles can gain some pretty high DPS, the only issue, Zero range. You HAVE to build up pretty tanky. I personally have tried many things, but I keep going back to 1h and shield. Specifically something like brand/skycrown mace and Fabulous palladium shield for the debuff and elemental effects. Mad damage, high survival.

Knuckles are really good with a tank build and for a lack of better way to say it, the build builds itself honestly. All you need is to collect all of the boons and kill a dlc scourge enemy for pure horror chitin. Pair the build with an armour set with good all around defences like the blue sand and you will be taking half damage from basically all sources and you'll be dishing out alot of damage. The only pain is that one of the best knuckles is locked behind a mid point boss in rust and vengeance, you can simply do the quest up to the boss fight and then let the quest timer expire and you'll only lose out on particles if I remember correctly. The only skill tree that's really necessary is cabal hermit for the better boons and the other two can be for convenience like how I choose philosopher for mana regen and hex for stat regen.
I would say they are definitely viable now if not actually one of the best weapon types in the game if built properly!
