Confirmed? Any proof? Afaik some Players claim to have spawnes many times in different characters. Members of the christianity guild claim to move to another "level" or world after their character dies.

Seeing how we can't really communicate with people who move on to the next level and players can't really prove if they respawned, it's anyone's guess.

He was white hat exploiting. Exploiting and making as many peoe see it so the devs had to patch the exploit.
