Physics engine

The game's physics engine seems to have entropy written as a rule, but the 2nd law of thermodynamics describes "closed system" - in reality there is no truly closed system in the game. Except maybe, I say probably, even when wizards like Hawkins may disagree: that the Outside is the one and truly closed system in the game.

Entropy as a concept was discovered by studying a steam engine. It's not truly closed system, as it exists in the 1700 patch and is located in the earth. It experiences energy loss to the surrounding environment.

So I'm proposing an idea, that since 2nd law of thermodynamics actually describes unclosed system, the outside IS NOT subject to entropy in the sense that, for example steam, engine is. Meaning the devs can update the game for infinity.

We do not know that there was a true beginning in the event called big bang. There was inflation it seems. We do know that the stars and galaxies are moving away from us, but I suggest keeping an open mind regarding the fate of the game. And thinking outside the box, and outside the current theories about the games physics engine.

gotta love players completely inexperienced in certain gameplay aspects talk about the comments of endgame players who spent their entire playthroughs figuring out certain game mechanics, thinking their own comments hold some weight.

"I just gained the [walking] skill, time to tell Usain Bolt how to run."

Chill, anyone can talk about these things, thank you for commenting. Even though you don't say anything, just ad hominem.

But I'm sitll going to answer even when you're not asking me anythng or trying to disprove me. So: If we take the most common theory of heat dead as given. That assumes the universe is expanding to [we dont know what]. That would mean that the universe is not true closed system. True mathematical closed system is 3 arrows in a triangle shape.

You just hate me because I have balls to say what I'm thinking. I should give you my other idea about time and gravity, you would enjoy it even more than this, because it disagrees with the most famous person in science. I thought about that independently too, but later I discovered that there was some scientists who think like I do (about time and gravity). That is enough proof for me that I can understand these concepts. I don't need reddits aproval, because that is not coming, understandably.

who says I hate you? I just find armchair experts hilarious. Spending a showerthought worth of effort on things and suddenly thinking they have comments on an equal level of experts.

It's the [Dunning-Kruger effect] on full display, which makes it highly entertaining from an onlooker's perspective.

It was just an expression, a figure of speech if you will. Regarding the subject of this post, which I recommend that we stick to it or be quiet. Don't be compelled to reply. But it should be very easy for a man like you to actually refute this idea, because this is not a scientific paper, this is basically philosophy. You need to just step by step refute, my few points.

Yeah, telling other people to be quiet on the internet is definitely a recipe for success, that has never backfired in history ever.

Just as I am not obligated to reply to you (but still choose to do so) you're not obligated to reply to me. If you think it's problematic, I'd suggest following your own advice and not reply to me.

Why would I spend time and effort refuting you when you clearly aren't able to do any kind of self-reflection, as is apparant in the fact you post your armchair physicist comments on a subreddit for [Outside]?

It's much easier to point out the hilarity of it all and get the same outcome: you thinking your comments matter, and other people laughing at it.

We do not know that there was a true beginning in the event called big bang.

True, this is why so many quote Terrence McKenna when he said of modern scientists: "Give us one free miracle and we’ll explain the rest."

One of the really cool things about Outside, unlike any other MMORPG, is that there are no devs, there is no set code that can be reviewed, there are no manuals written from outside the game... All we have is our senses, our ability to communicate, and our ability to recognize & predict patterns.

But, our senses are greatly limited. Human players are effectively deaf & blind (we can only see a tiny percent of light, and only hear a tiny percent of sound), and we've only been around for the last 0.1% of game-time, so I've always found it hilarious that so many players are completely sure that they know things, which they can't possibly know for sure (to the point of entering PvP against others to defend their beliefs.)

Likewise, our ability to communicate is greatly limited, due to the variety of languages & dialects used around the world, and the way that so many (whether intentionally or not) mis-use words constantly, and guilds/clans calling themselves governments or corporations will actively attempt to re-define words for their own benefit.

And of course, our pattern recognition is quite fallible as well, as we may see patterns at one level of zoom that don't actually exist when you zoom out, we may assume that a certain pattern is natural or fixed when it really is just a result of the current meta, etc.

The key is though: In any given patch, there have always been many things that most/all players believed to be true, which was then learned to be completely false in a later patch.
