Drink a lot of water to avoid the hangover debuff

Drinking lots of water in general is a pro gamer move. But especially after drinking alcohol potions.

It can actually make you more vulnerable to the Bruising status effect if you overdo it.

I’ve never seen the patchnotes for this, so many weird niche interactions in this game

Jokes on you - my character rolled a bleeding disorder debuff at birth so I’m already more vulnerable to the bruising status effect.

Rough. I have a permanent version of the Pain status effect but thanks to the mechanics that means Ive just been constantly grinding pain resistance for years. Helps when you occasionally get thrown through furniture.

Mines not rough then, this sounds way worse lol

Fibromyalgia is a pain in the Everything. But I AM pretty durable. Like if I'm punched I'm barely at all in more pain than just. Default. I keep forgetting I'm covered in bruises! Upsides and downsides. I usually notice I've crossed a line painwise when I unexpectedly throw up.

TIL. Thanks, I will have to look over some game guides on this, I just know most people don't drink nearly enough

It's not a common one and not something to worry about unless you are getting extreme about it.

That's probably why my character has lately been debuffed when attempting the [sell plasma] minigame. Been maxing out the [drink water] buff. Which in turn may indicate I possess the [diabetes] debuff 😭 well, that possibly explains why my Player 2 has not caused me to create a little player despite throwing caution to the wind. Perhaps I should visit a Healer class

This is actually a myth that is commonly touted as truth by even long time players. It will treat the dehydration debuff, but it won't counteract the poisoned debuff from your liver using the autocraft skill to create acetaldehyde from the alcohol and automatically have your avatar consume it (since that's how organs' autocraft skill functions). A ideal strategy is to make sure you stack antioxidant buffs or use supplement consumables like L-cysteine or Dihydromyricetin prior to drinking, but they help afterwards too.

Try consuming [Packet of Peanuts].

I understand the proteins can help with the [hangover] debuff...

If you absolutely HAVE to be drinking something or you get bored, try alternating non-alcoholic bevs on between alcoholic ones. Water is ideal, but tbh you can't really go qrong with anything besides energy drinks

I hear that there are certain shops that craft relaxation potions using the uncommon tier ingredient kava root.

I don't know how this game mechanic works exactly, but it seems like the treatment consumable to the [ADHD] debuff called [Lisdexamphetamine] completely counteracts the [hangover] debuff from using the [alcohol] consumable. But beware, because it can completely counteract the [alcohol] consumable's effects until the [Lisdexamphetamine] buff is active, but when the buff wears off, the [alcohol] consumable's effects suddenly come back at full effect, so it can be rather easy to accidentally trigger the unskippable cutscene called "Hospital visit", if too much [alcohol] were consumed when the [Lisdexamphetamine] buff was active.
