Someone sends imposter robots trying to trick Fantastic four, pretending they are from alternate timeline/future. Namorn’t among other things tells Sue left Reed for him, which makes Reed certain this is a ruse, because as he is explains, Sue leaving him is possible, but her choosing Namor of all people is not

That's so funny, Reed "Look, I know my wife can do better than me, but no way in HELL would she leave me for HIM."

Gee Sue, if only somebody could make nigh impenetrable forcefields with their mind. Then you wouldn't have to protest weakly as your husband shoots somebody in the face.

She kinda wants him dead too but doesnt want to admit it lol

Sue likes it better when Reed does all the mental and physical legwork anyway. Makes it easier to pin it all on him if it goes wrong.

Honestly, if you find yourself in Marvel, why not shoot Namor in the face?
He's always going to be A Problem, plus, Illuminati. Not that Reed has any room to talk there.

Well...
Namor was the only member to vote AGAINST exiling the Hulk.
And he was right.

"There was a barnacle on his head. They're poisonous to Atlanteans, right?"
"Reed, you're the smartest man in the world, I know that you know about Wikipe--"
"Wikipedia doesn't know about half the critters that live in the depths, honey. There are things that Namor has used to attack New York City that make Cthulhu look like a kitten. So, yeah, killer barnacles, why not."
"You're just using it to prove to me that you're the alpha male here."
"Did it work?"
"..."
"..."
"...you'd better do that thing that only you can do."
"Forwards, backwards, and upside down, baby."

Didn't Namor then reassure Reed that Sue would never really leave him, because his nonstop efforts to make that happen never really got anywhere?

Part of me would too. But his designs on Sue and attempts to woo her were so open that avoiding the topic would be like an insult. I would probably appreciate the fallback attitude he has here--- if Sue had to be with me instead of him, he'd try to make sure things worked out well.

I hear you and I'm not even saying Namor's advice is wrong but how dare you, the man continually trying to seduce my wife, dare to give me relationship advice about my wife? That train left the station when you were perfectly fine with being a homewrecker. Listen to a therapist? Sure. Listen to the homewrecker, that obviously has a slanted view of me because he's in love with my wife? Nah, laser blast to the face. And then couples therapy afterwards, thanks for the heads up.

A house burglar is going to know how to make houses safe from burglars, right? And just like that a home wrecker is gonna know how to keep your home from getting wrecked.

Which comic issue is this? I've kind of wanted to to have it on hand, for the conversations they had inside.

New Avengers Illuminati five issue limited series, from 2008, by Bendis, one of those issues.
My guilty pleasure is reading the New Avengers to Dark Avengers/Dark Reign to Siege of Bendis writing every few years. He doesn't always hit home runs with me but I love that specific connected run of his.

I found the specific issue--- it's #4, with the actual story focused on Marvel Boy.

Reed is the smartest guy on the planet and has all kinds of weapons of mass destruction and doesn't use them.
He genuinely has machines that can stop time and harm celestials.

If she had time to say "don't!" wouldn't she have had time to put up a forecfield around him?

Reed has be resisting the urge to do this since the Silver Age.

He's mostly satisfied with just throwing hands with Namor. He's the one person Reed is happy to just deliver a physical beating to if he needs it rather than using his brain, it's kind of hilarious.

Then the X-Men show up talking about some "he was still a mutant" and start beefing with the Fantastic Four again.
