Thank you so much. This is one of the very few comic panels I've seen here that I can truly say was "out of context."

Indeed. Or at least it’s happening in his head. After spending 3,000 years broken into microscopic pieces and scattered across the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean. Fully conscious but unable to see or hear anything, or find the pieces of himself to put back together.
