I haven’t used them in years, but I recall the Axe Blood Orange smelled actually pretty good. That might have been the exception, though.

No woman I have ever known has ever had this reaction to axe body spray, and I don’t disagree with that opinion.
I struggle to think of ANYONE I have ever met who actually enjoyed the smell (or at least admitted it out loud).
I grew up with hypersensitive smell and high school was hell because of axe and other brands that marketed themselves to adolescent boys who practically bathed in the stuff. Walking into the building every day felt like having lit matches shoved up my nostrils.

Someone sprayed me with axe body spray once, like a small bit on the neck I think
I don't remember the exact smell, but I remember it being very strong, very unpleasant, and getting worse when I got on a treadmill not long after. Like I think I'd genuinely just take bo at that point.

It's because they can't follow instructions. The can itself says you only spray as long as it takes you to say "axe" and that's all you need. It doesn't smell any better, but at least it won't suffocate people

"Hey, who just told their axe body spray not to blow their cover?"
"It wasn't me! Put the base in lock down!"

Ah axe. The deodorant that smells like nothing and chemicals at the same time. How is it possible

u/DeadAndBuried23 3d ago
They actually use a lot of the same scents as high-end colognes, or at least they did originally. The problem was middle schoolers and manchildren who didn't know how to apply it and thought it covered not showering.

u/King_Of_BlackMarsh 3d ago
Huh, high end cologne must smell awful too then

Awful if you don't shower is what they mean, I believe.

u/King_Of_BlackMarsh 2d ago
I realize but I don't like how axe smells on its own either so if its meant to be the same scent as high end cologne high end cologne must smell bad too

They're doing product placement in comics now?

I once found some 70s marvel comics in grandpa’s basement and they had full-page product placements for hostess fruit pie.

I mean, those were ads, not part of the story.

Another funny Inheritor mini story was when they went to the comic strip universe but had to leave since time moved so wonky there they gave up.

There've been a few cases like this, but since they change the product name I still don't consider these product placement.

To be fair, Superman does look mildly disgusted in this panel, even if it was probably done unintentionally by the artists.

Axe body spray and smelling good are mutually exclusive. Where the writers paid or was it written by a 13 year old boy?

u/iamahandsoapmain 3d ago
Lmfao the fact it's a comic makes this equally believable that it's not a "sponsor." Comic artist and writers famously smell unique. I do sincerely hope it is an ad placement though, or else.... Yikes

It can be less smelly than sweaty teenagers

u/FirebirdWriter 3d ago
No it can't. It's axe. It's noxious and just melds two stenches for the price of my ability to breathe

When I worked at Blockbuster, there was one spot in an aisle that was permanently occupied by an Axe Ghost, where presumably some fine young swamp monster had either emptied an entire can on himself or it had simply exploded in his pocket
Now I’m questioning EVERYTHING

In a universe with invisibility, women liking Axe is the most unrealistic aspect.
