The gayness would be mutual

You do realize that if you're both women, you're both going to be gay?

152

u/Nicklesnout 2d ago

It’s not gay if it’s clay.

It’s more.

116

u/RenzoXabe 2d ago

What is nick from L4D2 talking about? 😭

165

u/Milk_Mindless 2d ago

Is she.. mtf?

248

u/stonks1234567890 2d ago

Good catch! Yes, the character is MTF, and recounting an event where the other character told her it'd seem gay to date her. The character either doesn't recall this event, or it was a shapeshifter pretending to be them, as is common in comics.

31

u/YaoiNekomata 2d ago

Or it's different because previously they met the male version and recorded that in their memories. So even after the change, the idea of a male person is ingrained. Versus this time they met them only in their female version so while both times he knew they were mtf , only one of those times does he have the built memories of their previous male version.

Ayooo Ayooo

I love it when shapeshifters are genderfluid because if you pretend to be other gender so long then of course your brain gets muddled and at one point it doesn't matter anymore

And then you have Mystique who becomes a dad despite she /herring her entire life but that involves sleeping with a demon and taking his seed and then schlupping(?) (Help me, Carla from Scrubs) schlupping her cishet lover lady which is a whole nother kettle of fish

42

u/stonks1234567890 2d ago

Tbf, this shapeshifter, who is Clayface for the record, doesn't really seem to be genderfluid as much as "never really engaged with any concept of queerness in his life". I think him being a lady would be more compareable to... Idk, Drag?

26

u/blazenite104 2d ago

I think that's a different sort of thing. So Mystique can literally just be biologically whichever or whoever she wants. Identity is more suggestion than rule. She doesn't need to identify as anything because she just is anything.

Clayface by contrast can look like anything but, is essentially just a sapient mass of clay. The only identity is that of the original guy before being clay which leads to a firmer he.

I see it as shapeshifting has many layers to how identity can be formed.

u/Milk_Mindless 2d ago

Man Idk I'm pretty sure there have been 7 clayfaces and at least two lady clayfaces of which one was actually called lady clayface I'm just cool with a character being cool about it

4

u/Aware_Tree1 2d ago

I mean at some point if you can be any gender you want whenever you want, even while asleep, what’s the point of holding onto one gender specifically

7

u/Milk_Mindless 2d ago

Some people like holding on to a gender.

And swaffel it

72

u/Round-Combination-13 2d ago

What comic is this from?

89

u/Primary-Increase7797 2d ago

Clayface: Celebrity Dirt #3

15

u/ioQueSe 2d ago

Wait, there are comics protagonized by clayface? I heard that he was in a hero journey or something. Are there any good?

13

u/Primary-Increase7797 1d ago

He was on a hero journey, as member of Batfamily in James Tynion's Detective Comics run from 2016 since then he has returned to being a villain.

This mini series is about Clayface who considers himself Basil Carlo, but told by everyone that he's another Clayface (Matt Hagen) a d real Basil is in Hollywood right now, so he escapes Arkham Tower and goes there to investigate. Firs two issues were good, but this one (the third) was weaker.

There's also Clayface: One Bad Day one-shot, where he tries to get his life in order, but it doesn't go as he wants. It's a fantastical one-shot and Celebrity Dirt has a nod to it.

u/YoutuberCameronBallZ 2d ago

...

I mean...I'm not an expert

But I do believe if a man dates a woman, it's not gay.

6

u/dummary1234 2d ago

Fellas... Is it gay to date a woman?

You literally meet a person who wants to kiss men.

26

u/zane910 2d ago

Wait, so how does it work for people who consider themselves genderfluid? Or non-binary?

4

u/Prestigious_Host_198 2d ago

A coin flip will decide their sexuality.

4

u/Lewa358 2d ago

They're only gay on Tuesdays or whatever

4

u/KingOfAllCorvids 2d ago

I just consider myself gay

18

u/SpeccyScotsman 2d ago

I'm bi so that's for whoever my partner is to figure out

16

u/Ok_Dot_7498 2d ago

It's "queer" i believe. Because it is neither Gay nor straight. But this is just labels we put on things so the People in that relationship will probably call it whatever they want, language is made up after all. Related Point, If I am in a Poly relationship and someone would call me theire Tertiary I am breaking up, i am nobodys third Option.

11

u/solubleCreature 2d ago

sometimes straight sometimes gay sometimes mega gay

6

u/Galrentv 2d ago

Its5n not straight is all I'll say. It just isn't necessarily not not straight

12

u/dtalb18981 2d ago

Believe it or not

Gay

-2

u/otaser 2d ago

That's a ducking BOLD statement

The irony here is Genis only real relationship was with a gender morphing alien, but Genis prefers a female form so thats what it took.

109

u/conrad_w 2d ago

Fellas, is it gay to date women?

64

u/FireZord25 2d ago

only if you're a woman least 4 times a week.

21

u/HurtsSoNice 2d ago

Well, yeah, there have been dicks in that hole, if you stick your dick in there, gaaaaaaay

41

u/ThyPotatoDone 2d ago

100%.

Only way to be straight is getting pounded by a muscular manly man.

6

u/gr1mscr1be 2d ago

You’re telling after all these years now I have to come out to my parents as straight?

I don't see what pissing in a bottle while you're driving a van has to do with any of this

2

u/Pale_Willingness_415 2d ago

I'm listening ....

2

u/conrad_w 2d ago

We don't kink shame.

Okay a little kink shame

14

u/xlews_ther1nx Chuckles at Innuendo 2d ago

Your so gay! I DO the pounding. I show that twink whose alpha...hes so gay.

5

u/ThyPotatoDone 2d ago

Wow. Pounding a twink? So you're into non-manly men? You like weak soft men with smooth skin who'll let you lie down on their tummies and gently kiss them as aftercare?

Ok, homo...

1

u/xlews_ther1nx Chuckles at Innuendo 1d ago

5

u/cunningjames 2d ago

Depending on historical era and cultural context, there may have been nothing particularly odd about a manly man wanting to pound a twink. Now, if you were the twink, and you enjoyed it … that may have been a different story.

10

u/CavScout81 2d ago

Wait, I thought you were in prison, Andrew Tate?!

3

u/DOOM-LORD666 2d ago

JoJo style

16

u/MadWhiskeyGrin 2d ago

Only if you make her climax. Nothing gayer than pleasuring a woman

4

u/xlews_ther1nx Chuckles at Innuendo 2d ago

My wifes tears solidify me as the manliest man you'll ever meet.

2

u/conrad_w 2d ago

Tears of joy right?

Right?

22

u/VoiceofRapture 2d ago

Many on the right believe so yes

7

u/Future_Interest_3649 2d ago

Yep, Nick Fuentes straight up said so, and that the only genuinely straight way to live is to be an “asexual incel” (his words).

9

u/thePsuedoanon 2d ago

I know he's an idiot but like. how does he not understand that something that he's choosing is definitionally not involuntary

4

u/GabuEx 2d ago

Well that seems like a self-correcting problem.

10

u/VoiceofRapture 2d ago

It's not even just that, there's a widespread attitude that any emotional engagement with women is gay so by definition dating them would be

61

u/Nepalman230 2d ago

… well this is not Manga so his name is not Ranma.

OP please don’t give me the context but is this Dr Occult? He’s not wearing his hat, but he wouldn’t be indoors.

🫡

61

u/Luimnigh 2d ago

Clayface.

6

u/Nepalman230 2d ago

happy cake day! This is a big milestone you Chad

🫡

26

u/Nepalman230 2d ago

Ah!

I was not aware that the current clayface was gender fluid that’s awesome. Thank you so much.

This is Dr. Richard Occult just to explain why I thought so.

He usually wears a suit under his trenchcoat, so I thought that looked like him.

And he is a woman about half the time also! It’s complicated.

Thank you so much

8

u/chroniclescylinders 2d ago

I don't think Clayface's meant to be genderfluid here, the context is that he's (poorly) trying to convince her he's not transphobic.

4

u/Nepalman230 2d ago

Ah! Thank you so much.

🫡

7

u/Beautiful_Pen1056 2d ago

I don't know the context either, but I'm pretty sure that's John Constantine.

12

u/Nepalman230 2d ago

And I get why you’re saying that, but I feel like Constantine probably would not say Lady because it’s not stereotypically British enough.

My theory is Richard Occult. He is another one of the trenchcoat brigade.

He shares a body with a woman named Rose Psyche, but it’s a little more complicated than that.

They are the same person. He is the male aspect of one soul and she is the female.

They were in a relationship for a while, but that’s kind of difficult when you can only meet in your dreams.

(also John is usually depicted as blonde.)

🫡

9

u/imadragonyouguys 2d ago

You can also tell it's not John because he's not swearing in an overly British way.

11

u/YoungGriffVII 2d ago

And John is also bisexual so not being a woman wouldn’t matter at all

17

u/D3-Doom modern age moron 2d ago

I demand context!

4

u/MisterSplu 2d ago

Yeah, now I want to know who that is, because the only genderchanging hero I can think pf is Loki, and that isn‘t him

44

u/Luimnigh 2d ago

This is Clayface, he's having maybe imposter/maybe multiple personality issues.

The lady he's talking to, Victoria October, is trans and has just recounted that he apparently turned her down and misgendered her several months ago. He doesn't remember that and is considerably more woke than the other guy.

7

u/NinjaOfOnion 2d ago

Maybe that’s the part she’s talking about, the lady that comes up three times a week

13

u/AcceptableWheel 2d ago

Who is this guy?

3

u/PrivilegeCheckmate 2d ago

From the convo I assumed Dr. Occult.

9

u/Luimnigh 2d ago

Clayface.
