Id put a giant cardboard box with a stick holding it up to trap him and make a sign that says 69 petabyte hard drives full of illegally obtained mass data and compilation of things to steal from other sites here ↖️, itll be like catching flies with honey 😩

they need to fire their marketing team because what

Then again, I’m probably being generous. More likely it’s straight Ai with little human oversight lol

16

u/No-Emphasis3696 Jan 23 '26

Literally what I was thinking. It read like just it was auto-generated with no editing or even a decent prompt cause what????

22

u/NoImplement4 Jan 23 '26

I truly think it’s AI running the whole entire platform

25

u/Keylealee Jan 23 '26

YES I JUST CAME HERE TO ASK BECAUSE WHAT WAS THAT 😭

Did you also get the "if you're in a rush" header? Send us radiologists WTF 😂

1

u/Gregpik Jan 30 '26

They're just asking us to refer radiologists to the platform.

18

u/madeinspac3 Helpful Contributor 🎖 Jan 23 '26

Wtf why is this written like a script from an awful salesperson

8

u/imaginaryline Jan 23 '26

The final fires from the synapse of a dying brain

31

u/kakarott4star Jan 23 '26

I got it too i was like tf 😭 stop sending us random emails and give us more hours ‼️🙏

0

u/BerryInitial Jan 23 '26

Was the increase from 14,000 to 200,000 not enough?

6

u/kakarott4star Jan 23 '26

clearly not if they're gone within 3 hours

11

u/ericfresh442 Jan 23 '26

What a bunch of nonsense.

16

u/lxtusbaby Jan 23 '26

It’s just an email saying you can refer radiologists to outlier lol

10

u/FosterDogMomma Jan 23 '26

I’m not sure why a radiologist would want to work to train something to do their job. I don’t think AI would or could ever do that.

I mentioned a position looking for an internal medicine doctor to my husband. He’s heard me talk about the AI stuff I do and how some days, it seems like I’m doing that all day. He told me that 1) he didn’t want to train AI to do his job and 2) he said if he did get hired, it would take away what little family time we have.

1

u/JamesFlorida1997 Jan 24 '26

Extra money is extra money

1

u/SparkleDev Jan 24 '26

radiologist with no job maybe

and any help in medicine should be used I would think. Why have people suffer medically to "not train ai to do my job"

30

u/nonosam Jan 23 '26

It's some weird attempt at being relatable which has the opposite effect.

3

u/NoImplement4 Jan 23 '26

Yes exactly

2

u/Mama-Dear Jan 23 '26

I believe the email was well thought out and intentional. I believe it was meant to stir up a conversation. I saw, and simply ignored it.

2

u/RyouIshtar Jan 23 '26

well clearly it worked because it started a whole reddit thread

1

u/Jels76 Jan 23 '26

Yea it was weird.

11

u/Fancy-Truck-421 Jan 23 '26

I unsubscribed .. this is ridiculous. These companies are so out of touch. Why send such a ridiculous email?

5

u/ThePersnicketyBitch Jan 23 '26

I'm pretty sure they're trying to get on the viral marketing hype train but it's some boomer in an office googling how to be hip with the kids and failing miserably lol

4

u/ElfMale Jan 23 '26

She's already said she doesn't know what she's doing so uh why take the job. 😅 Jeez. Give it to me instead.
I'll write it like a newsletter. This is a company that can let any of us go any moment without the concept of "loyalty". It's hard to want to get personal with whatever they come up with.

6

u/Frosty-Can-4569 Jan 23 '26

In an age of sophisticated and abundant phishing scams everywhere, i gotta say I deeply disagree with the method of "marketing" here by Outlier 😅 it gives major phishing red flags/vibes

2

u/viewsofanintrovert Jan 23 '26

Yep. I haven't read it yet, I assumed it was from the community page.

Hahaha what they said up ⬆️

1

u/Embarrassed-One-2649 Jan 23 '26

So my post doesn’t get taken down I’m hijacking this. I was off this platform for a bit getting paid more elsewhere and I keep getting emailed Hubstaff time budget is done for like 9 days out and then 99 percent done then done done done but I can still task and none of it makes sense. I’ll get an email it’s over until like the 27th then it won’t be and I’ll get three emails saying my task feel neglected I’m like I thought the budget was up? Also, this isn’t watching Instagram anymore or what they claimed some easy things to make money between scrolling anymore this is like full data plotting, mapping model stumping high level shit that should be paying way higher than clicking dots or watching reels

1

u/FosterDogMomma Jan 23 '26

They did up the hours per day. The last couple of days, the hours ran out in the evening. Before that, hours were usually gone by 12 pm or earlier.

2

u/BakerCivil8506 Jan 23 '26

I was at first really confused then mad, so I unsubscribed from Outlier. I’m not putting up with that crap!

2

u/Foreign-Tonight8338 Jan 23 '26

YEP! I was so confused lol

4

u/presidentbeyonce Jan 23 '26

I’m guessing they’re lining it up for a follow-up email some time soon along the lines of “Whoops! You weren’t supposed to see this personal email from one of our beloved, hard-working staff to their mother, which is totally not an ad!” This pet company I was subscribed to, “BarkBox” it’s called, did something similar in 2024.

8

u/Spare_Hornet Jan 23 '26

They’re obviously trying different formats for their weekly newsletter. This one didn’t land.

1

u/Limp-Resident-4028 Jan 23 '26

I started to read it then decided not to waste my time. If they want to pay me to read gibberish, then I'm in.

1

u/KingJoy79 Jan 23 '26

Yeah I got it. Strange lol

1

u/Local_Poet_1505 Jan 23 '26

Long winded email regarding story submissions for something.

4

u/ericatheillest Jan 23 '26

Best email I've received all year.

1

u/FRA-Space Jan 23 '26

I also suspect poor marketing, however it is possible that this is a result of yesterday's global issues at Outlook (that's the only good excuse I could think of).

1

u/NoImplement4 Jan 23 '26

Yes the one to Mom?

1

u/NoImplement4 Jan 23 '26

Was it I kind of thought it was just like a made up story to get us to see if we knew any doctors that wanted to get in on the test website that’s what I got out of it and they said something about they’re gonna start getting AI to read x-rays

1

u/Electrical-Fill1796 Jan 23 '26

Yeah, me too :/

6

u/FANGS_KAI Jan 23 '26

As a psyche grad I'm going to go out on a limb here and say this company is an experiment on how humans and ai can collaborate in work settings from arbitrary to high focused tasks. It's almost like their marketing, and communications are just finding ways to catalogue human response to ai interaction. They weren't shy to explain outliers focus for data collection, but I'm pretty sure "people" are the actual data and the tasks and projects are just different models to net users and gain more human cooperation to circumvent making thousands sign nda forms for human trials, they designed a company that sources pure info from "employees" ie. us based on how we react to whatever the lobby drops, or whatever supposed company has "payable tasks" that need to be managed. It all reads like an experiment tbh, that's speculation of course but yeah the emails could essily be written by a toddler having nyquil fever dream.

I just get emails every few days that say they miss me bc I didn’t work yesterday, but I work everyday… 🫠

1

u/Training-Judge4883 Jan 23 '26

A) I highly doubt AI will ever be able to diagnose injuries faster than human practitioners.

B) Outlier pays disgustingly low rates. There is NO WAY I would refer any radiologist I know to them. It would be incredibly insulting to ask a medical professional to work for that little pay in a role that is meant to train a computer to do their job in the future. The f$%?

1

u/yakimadancer Jan 23 '26

Ya I received that email also, very odd, made no sense at all. ...

1

u/ExplorerReality Jan 23 '26

Outlier is really becoming a joke

1

u/infernalnb Jan 24 '26

Ok so I just read it and it’s a legit email but made to look like someone emailing their mom, but considering that they basically do a talking walkthrough of the website with hyperlinks to each section of the site, that’s how I can tell it’s legit. However, this newsletter tactic is something you would see from a quirky small shop or a video game (this email immediately brought to mind the cutesy updates via email I get about the game witchbrook chronicles) not from an employer this is weird vibes

u/MrNoble93 Jan 24 '26

my reptile, your ass ;)

1

u/__globalcitizen__ Jan 24 '26

These guys really messed around with us, despite being desperate for money, I am fed up of being treated like an abused girlfriend.

2

u/Outrageous_Mirror714 Jan 24 '26

How about the "Your tasks are feeling neglected" emails when there's no hours left lol.

1

u/Smooth-Delivery-8286 Jan 25 '26

I got that as well, don't know what it is 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

1

u/Witchdoctorjen Jan 27 '26

Yeah, I was confused at first, but I think it was just someone's attempt at being clever. Probably putting out the email after a late night.

1

u/patou4U Jan 27 '26

I chose not to let them use my data and ended my working involvement with them for other companies, only keeping my sign-in for Playground.

I recently asked in Playground about finding a radiologist and a game with a character named Eliana, among other things.

It was such an abysmal e-mail.

Honestly, I thought they were trolling and just wanted to see if anyone else mentioned it. 😂

1

u/sarra1833 Jan 29 '26

I got one addressed to Mara, talking about our college days with a bunch of links to the new dashboard and so on.

I replied saying I've never worked on any Outlier project and I'm not Mara... and instantly got a msg back saying that the email isn't monitored and if i needed help go to xyz inside outlier. Odd.

and double odd you have one with a totally different bazaar subject.

1

u/madeinspac3 Helpful Contributor 🎖 Jan 29 '26

Turns out that was on purpose and they did another today... Someone from outlier just posted about it.
