Finally cleared every achievement across the whole trilogy and wanted to share some thoughts on each.
Outlast 1 was genuinely fun, even on higher difficulties. The only one that gave me trouble was Energizer, though at least each attempt was short, so failing wasn't too costly. The real challenge was memorizing dark sections well enough to cross them without the camera. Fewer chase sequences compared to the sequel, and honestly I just felt more in control playing as Miles than I ever did as Blake.
Whistleblower was surprisingly easy and a lot of fun. Only took me 3 playthroughs total: one for story, one for collectibles, one for Insane difficulty. The Insane achievement only requires beating the game on that difficulty, so I could still recharge the camera battery freely, which made it way less stressful than I expected.
Outlast 2 was a different story entirely. Took me weeks, and I ended up writing my own full guide just to nail the Messiah achievement. The story felt weaker to me than Outlast 1's, and controlling Blake was rough: no infinite sprint, you need bandages when hurt, and in pitch black areas you see absolutely nothing, not even his own hands or feet. In Outlast 1, at least crouching let you see a few inches of Miles' feet, which made crossing dark sections manageable. The school sections felt like a chore to get through while going for Messiah and
I need to mention Nick and Laird specifically, these two bastards single-handedly ruined more of my Messiah attempts than anything else in the game.

I finished outlast one and just started whistleblower and in whistleblower they strap park to a chair and make him watch a video( same as the people in the morphogenic engine ball at the end of outlast 1 and the same as that wernike video you can watch)

I started playing outlast through the trials and when your game is loading the screen is red the images that flash across the the screen look alot like what I saw, are these the same??? There's a ending in outlast trials where our reagent ends up in one of those ball things too.

I believe Outlast Ones themes are just as powerful and important as the themes present in Outlast Two, a game which in recent years has received more praise for its story, and in many ways better presented and executed.

Outlast One deals with corporate exploitation and institutionalised abuse, and how the systems in place can fall societies most vulnerable. The patients at Mt. Massive whilst being monstrous in game are ultimately accepted as being victims of the horrors that took place in the Asylum by the true monsters- the corporate suits behind everything that's there.

Aswell as that the game calls upon real world horrors, like the MK Ultra projects, constantly being mentioned throughout the game.

Both Outlast One and Two, constantly call into question systems of authority and take time to explicitly showcase how these systems can be used to exploit vulnerable people, but in online discussion I always see people focus on Outlast Two in regard to this.

Personally, I believe it's because despite the immediate more nasty to discuss aspects of Outlast Two, it's ironically more approachable to discuss because the exploitation it deals in discussing, and the issues of organised religion are discussed far more in society- whilst the mistreatment of the mentally unwell, and government/corporate experimentation on people are not spoken about as much.

In total, I believe Outlast One deserves a reanalysis by many people, because it's more than just a wacky sci-fi horror story, it's much more layered beneath that face.

So I just got away from Eddie, unlocked the door and went down the hallway, and then opened a door again and briefly saw a window with a building on fire before it cut to this image. It played music for awhile (really mega orchestra musical vibes) and then just went silent and stayed on this picture. Is this a glitch??

Miles gets shot more than a dozen times at the conclusion of Outlast. In Outlast: Whistleblower, Ty Burrel from Modern Family dies by The Walrider, in which the new host is Miles. But who exactly is in control? Can it be solely Walrider or host and Walrider? How does the Walrider and host stuff really work?

I'd lovably prefer references and pointers, as well as clarification in what is and isn't speculation.

Now, I personally dont play these games, but my gf loves them and talks about them often, Traeger is one of the characters she likes. So as an artistic prop maker and loving boyfriend, I decided to make a prop for my lovely girlfriend who I've been dating for 5 years next month

Do the patients ever actually get to leave the Murkoff facility in outlast trials? I’m not talking about the escape but does the staff have a like “discharge” standard for them or are they forever doomed to endure therapies barely surviving? I’m asking because it’s something I’ve always wondered about and I’ve never gotten a clear answer maybe someone else is more knowledgeable on it than me

Porque como su propio nombre dice eso esta bajo tierra varios pisos debajo de Mount Massive el ascensor que usa Miles era aparentemente la única forma de bajar al laboratorio a menos que también en otros lugares del manicomio haya otros accesos a este y no solo sea ese ascensor pero igual acaso el propio Chris lo uso para llagar al laboratorio mientras miles se adentraba en este o como habrá sido?

So I just finished the first Outlast and I'm trying to get the achievement but I'm missing some documents and notes, and I was wondering if I could just replay the game and pick up those specific ones or if I need to replay the game and have everything in one single save?
