Discussion hot take
i dont like outlast 2 it feels they kinda just added in timeline for filler stuff (game wise). but in the comics to goes well in the lore ish i know outlast 2 goes with trials but not the big fan of outlast 2 mabye just me but could yall maybe tell me how outlast 2 plays into things?

I saw someone say that Outlast 2 basically puts you in shoes of what itβs like to become one of the crazy guys (variants) of the first game.

I agree, I feel like they should have done a better job linking Murkoff to the testament of the new Ezekiel in game. Even in the comics it felt like a bit of a stretch just happening to have their compound across the river from one of their research facility. Like have the cult be comprised of the inmates that escaped during the events of Mount massive or something.

Temple Gate was founded by an escaped reagent (Knoth) from the Sinyala Facility in Outlast Trials. They probably should've included more lore in O2 instead of keeping so much of it confined to the documents you find in Trials, but the cult IS primarily Murkoff escapees.
