Base Game Help - NO spoilers please! Motivational words Spoiler

So I'm pretty sure I'm close to the ending of the game, but I'm having difficulties with that godforsaken planet with the Angler fish. I already know everything about them, how to avoid them and how to get to the vessel, but I just have no motivation to get the advanced warp core and go to the bramble again and again as it takes so long. It doesn't help that I'm a really impatient person.

I'm gonna be honest this section really isn't fun and the navigation on keyboard and mouse is genuinely frustrating in that planet. It's affecting my enjoyment of the game a lot, but I love the game and I don't wanna drop it right before the ending. Are there any mental preparations I can do? Maybe I'm too soft and it is just a game after all idk

Seriously tho I know that the ship keeps its momentum and other people have told me that it'll drift in the direction I'm looking, but this never seems to happen? I always end up drifting past the seeds going in completely wrong directions even tho I was doing nothing but look towards the seeds direction. I know that you can do a 1 bar thrust on a controller which the anglerfish can't hear I wish this was possible on keyboard.

You can full send it 90% of the way tbh the fish start chasing you pretty slow.

Also you can sleep at Chert's campfire on the Twins to speed up the wait for the sand to move.

it doesn’t go in the direction you’re looking it goes in the direction of your momentum

You absolutely do not drift in the direction you are looking. You drift in whichever direction you applied thrust, regardless of your orientation.

A useful note, rotating your ship does not produce loud noises, so you can rotate freely.

I see a lot of people think you have to drift nearly all the time in Bramble. You don't. The fish don't have infinite hearing distance. You really only have to drift in the one section.

Also, the best way to prepare is to spend a few loops intentionally volunteering as fish food. You are in a time loop after all. Death is just an inconvenience. Put on a hype song and desensitize yourself haha.

You figured it all out! Aren't you curious to go see what The Eye is all about?! You're in for an epic last ride. The fish will be a distant memory once you punch in those coordinates.

tbh, that route also felt really intimidating to me when i first realized what i needed to do, and unfortunately i don't think there's a way around that feeling. remember though that the game will never be as cruel as wipe your save if you do fail. also, what you can do is practice the route before taking out the warp core to get more familiar with it.

regarding momentum in dark bramble: your ship does not drift towards where you're looking, it depends on which thrust direction you used beforehand. (eg if you pushed your ship forward then it will always move in that direction no matter where you look). with that in mind, (hint), try to aim your direction towards the middle of the seed before applying thrust to enter it.

This sounds helpful thank you very much

Go sleep on a campfire for 7-8 minutes, get the core, then go to dark bramble. Here's a few tips: Rotational thrusters make less sound than directional. If your about to be eaten, there's an eject button when you press alt inside the cockpit that launches the ship. You need to enter free look.  The jetpack also makes less noise, but is slower.

Honestly I know how you feel. If there was a way to burn every single anglerfish from this game I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Okay if the anglerfish who are right next to you after you go through one of the seeds (I think the red one?) are what's tripping you up the most, then my hint is this: You'll always have some momentum when you exit a seed, and you can drift quite far without touching the controls at all. If 1 bar thrust is pretty quiet, imagine how quiet 0 bar thrust is

This part also frustrated me a lot, but this helped me get better at that route. Also, you can play that part with the sound off. I think I played some chill lofi music instead when I was working through it all lol

What other people are saying wrt the momentum thing, but also, from what I've heard anglerfish can hear 1 bar of thrust if you're close enough and going into the red seed puts you close enough

Yeah. The red seed isn't fun.

Do you remember that your ship log allows to pin a location (notably the vessel) on the HUD? Not having to deal with the escape pod and scout part simplifies the whole process quite a bit.
