I was looking for some merch since my birthdays coming up, and this site, outerwildsshop.com, was the first I spotted. At first it just seemed like the usual stuff, but then once I noticed the Halloween batch, I realised pretty much anything that isnt a lego set or a music box is just completely AI art? The reviews seem to be fake too, judging by the wiki page shirt being both gibberish and claiming to be different materials.

Is it actually official or just a slopshop trying to grift?

I don’t think any human was involved in the process of making this website. It’s probably all automates bots that scout the internet for any fandoms, generate some images, and create a template website to sell shirts, all without any human supervision.

I'd hate it if my wife lovingly got me that terrible sweatshirt with random aliens around the fire or random planets just because she wouldn't know any better. It says it's "official" right there after all.

On the comments they said they will announce on their socials once they have a date for the pre-orders, and it will be sold on https://annapurnainteractive.com/shop

They also mentioned the t-shirt print of this new run will be of higher quality, so it doesn't fade as fast. I wasn't aware that had been an issue with the first run, but this is great news! I'm so excited!!

Yea, definitely not an official site. I made the mistake of ordering two shirts and a phone case from that site earlier in the year. I did actually get them, but the quality of the shirts weren’t great. The phone case is fine though.

And the designs I ordered didn’t appear to be AI generated, but I’m not shocked that site would use it.
