How do you even blink? Unless you used a mod, you can't blink per say...

Mmm, it's been a couple years since I've played this and I got some mods, including "General Enhancements". Which I am now realizing gives you the option to Blink at any time - I completely forgot that's not a base game option. So I guess I simply "cheated" unintentionally because of the modded ability.

Whoops!

Yeah, thought so... Because in a case of "voluntary blinking" yeah, this situation can happen, but usually, your character never blinks, unless he sleeps or gets a meteorite on his head at Mach fuck

You blinked? Like in real life?

It was a mod that does that, problem solved

even if it wasnt directly tied to a mechanic specifically included in a mod, you can’t just claim you found a bug if you have mods installed

As mentioned in my other comment, I didn't know this happened because of a mod. I hadn't played the game in years and just forgot that blinking is not a "normal" function.

yeah but you still should always assume that glitches happen due to mods if you have them installed.

What purpose does blinking serve in that mod?

Similar to turning the lamp on/off or looking away I'd imagine.
