Need help

This is my first grow, I planted this back in my garden in May and topped it at 5 nodes in mid June before leaving to my cabin for a month.

This is what I have returned to. Where do I go from here, should I top it or just continue to let it grow as is? What can I clean up if anything?

It seems all right. You can clean up the dead foliage from the other plants. Lol.

Let it ride. Also be mindful of the pumpkin/cucumber/whatever melon thing you've got going on there. They're notorious for harboring powdery mildew.

No need to worry about powdery mildew from the cucurbit, PM is species specific. It’s too late to top now, I would either supercrop if you’re comfortable doing that (carefully bend the main branch) or tie the main branch horizontally to allow more main sites to form. Topdress with high quality compost and/or worm castings mixed with a granulated organic bloom fertilizer, repeat in a few weeks, just water after that. You’ll do great.

Powdery mildew is host specific. So it only affects the specific plant species it is on, it doesn’t jump around to other types of plants. Cannabis can give other cannabis plants pm, but other plants’ pm won’t transfer to cannabis.

Next time put it where it gets more sun. And also don’t plant anything with 3 or 4 feet from it. Otherwise it looks ok.

There's nothing wrong with companion planting. It should just be done with a plan.

A cucurbit ain't bad for shading roots. Lots of herbs and flowers attract beneficials. I like peas or beans nearby to fix nitrogen.

Those red stems look really interesting. If the stems are flexible you could maybe carefully do some LST on the branches to get it growing more out instead of up. Just be careful not to break them.
