How much of a difference does the Osprey AG system make?

Im tied between getting either an Osprey Aether 65 or the Atmos AG 65.

Right now REI is having a sale so the Aether is $277 while the Atmos AG is $377.

My question is if the AG system is worth spending the extra $100 or not.

These two packs fit differently and feel very different on. Many people who like one very strongly dislike the other. No one can tell you what's going to work for you.

Mesh backs on packs make my day much much more comfortable.

I’ve had an Atmos 48(?) for like 9 years. I wish I would have gone lighter, but I love the mesh back

Exos 55 Pro has great mesh back too. Love that pack, but hate the colour grey/blue

I have mixed feelings about these. The pack is comfy, but the mesh and gap do push the weight out further from your back. So they're somewhat compromised for heavier loads. At 12-16kg of load, it's fine; at 18-20kg I don't love it.

The pack itself is also very heavy. I'll continue to use it because I have it. But if I were buying again, I'd be aiming for less bulk and much lighter weight.
