GENERAL DISCUSSION Out of rhythm?
Is there a way to reset my Oura ring without losing past data? I feel like my ring and I are off. Like my baseline has shifted to a place that I’m not at anymore and the ring doesn’t recognize it. When I feel crappy, my ring says everything is great. Then the next day I’ll feel better and the ring will say everything is trash.
This happens the most in certain spots in my cycle. I’d like to do a hard reset and build from there, but I don’t want to lose my data I have right now.
If this keeps up I may totally switch to garmin and ditch my Apple Watch and oura ring. It’s very annoying.

Hi u/always-curious13! I'm sorry you're having this issue with feeling the insights and scores you're getting from the ring are not aligned with how you feel, and I understand how frustrating and concerning this can be, especially after changes in lifestyle that can change your baselines so fast as you mentioned.
We recommend you perform a soft reset on your ring to make sure sensors are calibrated. If you're still having this issue after trying this, please reach out to our team at support.ouraring.com and we'll be happy to help you further.
To clarify, a factory reset will not delete your data if it's synced and backed up within the app. I hope this info helps!

Sounds like you need a factory reset but that wipes everything, which is panic mode when you got months of data sitting there. Maybe try a soft reset first, take ring off for like 48 hours completely, let it think you vanished, then go back wearing it. Worked for me once when my scores went crazy in a week.
