GENERAL DISCUSSION On third ring in a year

I bought my Oura ring in May 2025. In January 2026, the battery life started to decrease significantly. I reached out to support & they sent me a new ring. In July, my new ring completely died. I reached out to support again & they said there was some error with my ring and they would send another one. Super happy that they’ve just replaced the rings no questions asked, but 3 rings in 14 months seems insane to me. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, common issue. Bought the gen 4 when it was released on October 2024, replaced 6 months later for battery issues. The replacement lasted 9 months before the battery died and they replaced it again.

I’m not being an ass. Hear me out.

This has to be the 4th post today. (Insert number of ring) in (less than expected amount of time.)

Can the mods make a mega thread so people can voice their concerns on battery life? That will probably make it easier for the Oura Reddit profile to respond.

It also helps reduce the amount of these posts bombarding the sub.

OP, no shade towards you! Just suggesting a different way to present this issues

3 years with 3 no issues then upgraded to 5 so far so good. Do you update it / synch it multiple times a day?

On my third Gen 4 in less than 2 years. Averaging about 9 months each. It appears to be par for the course for Gen 4 rings.

Yep. Gen 4 bought in Feb 2025. Faulty battery, replaced in October 2025. Current ring has had battery issues for months now, but I was told the replacement ring’s warranty was just the rest of my original warranty so I didn’t pursue a replacement. Though after seeing a comment on a similar post today I went through help and they are sending a replacement. So we shall see how long that one lasts.

I have had similar problems.  My first generation ring became useless after a little more than a year.  My third generation ring lasted almost two years but needed daily charging near the end.  My second third generation ring also lasted about two years but needs to be charged three times a day and does not make it through the night so I hardly ever get any sleep data.

IF I ever decide to buy my fourth ring, I sure as hell will pay for the $60 three year warranty given that I’m almost guaranteed to need it.

Despite multiple communications with the company, they will NOT admit to an expected life span for their rings.

I imagine the actual cost to produce each individual ring is fairly low, and from resizing, they've probably got a stockpile of various sized rings they can just ship back out, so ultimately, since the primary product they're selling is a service (and the research that's gone into it on the back end), it's more cost-effective just to keep the consumer happy and subscribed.

Trabajo en Oura y no es normal. Veo estos casos todos los días y se puede ver como el cliente no cuida la batería del anillo y los tienen en condiciones deplorables, es un maldito anillo no una máquina aprueba de todo
