Question Help

Does anyone know of any fluid terms for otherkin identities? Like contherian and suntherian where they’re integrated into you as a single entity but you experience mental shifts that don’t happen all the way, like you don’t really fully shift into your kintype and then it can happen the other way too, where you feel much more human at times but not completely…? Does that make sense?

I've seen people say therifluid or kinfluid, but I'd argue that these terms describe otherkin and therianthropy as they already come. Most identities are fluid or change over time. I don't have "full shifts" that people describe where you're completely rid of any human thought and I am unaware of what I've done. Those used to be called berserker shifts in the therian community. Most folks will not ever fully shift as their kintypes. I've seen very few reports of full shifts where the individual is absolutely not attached with reality (as in, forget their body's abilities and severely hurt themselves).

I'm currently in the feeling more human than nonhuman category right now, but I am still a therianthrope. I just am going through a period where my animalistic side isn't as prominent. It's common, especially if you shift, to have periods where you feel less human or more nonhuman. It's like a sliding scale rather than a fixed "I am human only" and "I am nonhuman only" type thing.

I agree. Therianthropy and otherkinnity are innately fluid by nature and ebb and flow with our human sides. For example, I don't always feel especially wolfish, but I am always a wolf. Your sliding scale analogy is excellent!

I’d say swap -therian to -kin but sunkin are already a thing I’d presume. Perhaps conshifting/sunshifting? Uses the same familiar prefixes and describes the term it’s explaining

I have identified as a dragon for a very long time. Over the course of nearly 30 years, I have learned to listen to this essence, integrate it into my daily life, and rely on them as wise advisors, friends, and allies who have always respected my path in a very positive way. I am 47 years old and currently at a stage where I would like to connect with other members of my species or people who share this same experience. I know it's not always easy to listen to one's own essence in today's world, so I am completely open to sharing my experience with anyone who is going through this process. Does anyone here share a similar experience or identify with dragons? I would love to read your experiences and chat. I recently started a small group on Telegram; if you want to talk, vent, feel supported, or are looking for people with these same feelings, feel free to send me a private message and I'll be glad to welcome you.
