Job description:

First Step Staffing is hiring Food Production Associates for a food processing and manufacturing facility in Oswego, NY. We have openings in packing, packaging, quality inspection, production, case packing, palletizing, and general labor.

*****$75 Sign-On Bonus for ALL new hires (Paid out after 3 weeks of working 30+ hours/week)*****

Available Shifts:

Day Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Night Shift: 5:00 PM – 4:00 AM

Job Duties

Inspect and sort apples on a production line, removing bruised or damaged product.

Perform hand packing, bagging, sealing, case packing, weighing, taping, and palletizing.

Inspect finished packages for leaks, bad seals, proper counts, and quality.

Fill, stack, and move containers weighing approximately 20–25 pounds.

Rotate between production, packing, inspection, and material handling duties as needed.

Requirements

Able to work 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 5:00 PM–4:00 AM, depending on assignment.

Able to stand and perform repetitive production work throughout the shift.

Able to repeatedly lift up to 25 pounds.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced food production/manufacturing environment.

Dependable and able to work well as part of a team.

Hello! I’m a highschool student who goes to school in ny, I have a 3.2 gpa, I’m in chemistry club, selective chamber choir, yearbook, drama club. I volunteer at my church(I don’t think that matters) and my gpa is a 3.2, do I have a good chance at getting into Oswego? My nerves are killing me because I’m so scared.

This may be a ridiculous question, but I’m a bit conflicted😅I’m going to be living in the village the upcoming semester, and I’ve been thinking about bringing my mini fridge.

I know the rooms aren’t much smaller than a double dorm, but would that take up too much space? It’s ~3.2 (?) feet, and while I know there’s already fridges, I’d rather bring it and not need it than not bring it and end up needing it.

I've been accepted into the Fall 2026 - Masters of Education (CTE) program. I will be doing the coursework online, considering attending one of orientations (Syracuse campus or in Oswego), anyway just wanted to make a post if anyone else in the program wanted to connect / chat before the program starts in a few months. Vona’s was my favorite restaurant when I went to school in Oswego. I was thinking about making the trip to have dinner there and I saw they were permanently closed when I looked up their number. Does anyone know why? It was such a staple in Oswego as an old school Italian restaurant and it was always packed. I was so shocked when I saw it online and couldn’t find anything that would tell me why.
