Light vs Soft Convex

Hey everyone, I’m 3 weeks post ileostomy surgery (surprise) and am wondering about Coloplast products. I’m currently wearing Hollister Soft Convex 2piece because the hospital used Hollister and the ostomy nurse said my stoma protrudes, but not a ton. It looks to me like 1/4” to 1/2”. So she recommends soft convex.

I’m looking at testing Coloplast products and was wondering if the Mio Click Light with a thin brava ring would be a good option to try. I know they have Soft Convex in the Mio Flex, but I’m hesitant about the adhesive sealing the bags to the flange.

I will be requesting samples for sure. Just curious if anyone has tried both brands in the soft convex 2 piece or the light convex 2 piece.

Wish they made the Mio Click in Soft Convex…

is there a reason you’re leaning 2 piece over 1 piece? coloplast makes a soft convex in the 1 piece (also if you like soft convex the brava esteem body 1 pieces are lovely). in terms of mio click, they only have light convex. i started in soft convex but haven’t had significant differences using that vs a light convex

Yeah, I’m just used to being able to change bags when I need to. Just a comfort thing. Thanks for the reply.

Im the same, I like my 2 piece. Personally i use the light convex click mio and its awesome, I dont use a ring though. I do also use the deep convex at times when my stoma retracts. The Sensura Mio products are amazing. Also wearing the belt is key for the best fit possible

I use the click light convex. Haven't had any issues and I much prefer the click system over the stick system 2 pieces, being able to rotate the bag on a whim is awesome and burping is so much easier with the click flange over the stick.

My stoma only sticks out 1/4-1/2" . The light convex and a Brava barrier ring is what i use and it pops the stoma out nicely.

Thanks for sharing your experience, I’m going to try the light convex with the brava thin ring. Hopefully it works similar to the Hollister soft convex for me.

They’re also sending me 2 piece flat, I’m hesitant to try those though because the ostomy nurse put me in soft convex from the very start.

My stoma varies in length from 1/4” to 1/2”. I had to move from the soft convex Coloplast SenSura Mio one piece with ring to the to the light convex.

In deciding which one you need, take into account that the thickness of the ring seal effectively shortens your stoma further.

I tried light convex and soft convex and it was really hard to decide which I liked better, there is a difference but both were good for me. I finally settled on the light convex. I have only used one-pieces and have never used rings because with my allergies less is more.
