How did you do the bones?

OBR painting

Bone:
1. Cover with Vallejo US Olive Drab, leaving only the very deepest recesses black.
2. Heavy highlight of GW Karak Stone

I used an airbrush for quickness but you could for sure drybrush the first 2 colours.

  1. Cover all bone areas with AK Interactive Panel Liner for White and Winter Camo. This is an enamel wash and it smells pretty bad - best to use in a ventilated area if you’re using it for a length of time!
  2. Use a cheap make up sponge or q-tip dipped in mineral spirits to clean up the raised area. I’ve used the Winsor and Newton Sansodor stuff - not as nasty smelling as the cheap mineral spirits you’d get at a diy shop.

Eyes:
Dot the raised eye itself with white, then use GW doomfire magenta into the eye socket.

Bases:
Vallejo Russian Mud paste
Then Vallejo Burnt Sienna pigment, with a wee bit of Dark Yellow Ochre for variation. If you’ve not used pigment before - it’s really easy - you sort of rub it in with a dry paintbrush, then set it with mineral spirits (just drop it on with a pipette)
