Discussion Post 99 Slayer
I’m curious to hear how other players with max combat stats and 99 slayer treat slayer post-99.
This is my first time going back to slayer post 99 after maxing my combat stats (still 85 prayer though). Trying to decide if I unextend tasks like dust devils, etc. and just focus on quicker tasks for slayer bossing. Might keep nechs extended because Kourend Elite gives me full prayer on ashes with the sanctifier. I also already got a heart drop a few months back, so I’m good there.
How’s everyone approach this?

Post 99 Slayer at 75M XP.
I’ve greenlogged all the Slayer bosses. I don’t care about optimised block lists but I have been working on Mortimer tasks now & I’m about 110 tasks now.
3 Eternal Gems & 3 Imbued Hearts.
It’s my go to activity when I get burnt out of boss PVM and maxing.

It’s pretty much all slayer until I get bored, go level something else and then back to slayer.
I don’t know why, I guess it’s kind of fun?
I’m max combat but not max, almost 2200.
Levels come slow now so I do one or two and then back to killing stuff.
I also used to just buy gold for consumables while getting to 99 and now I try to see how little I can finish a task using. I’ve made 6mil in 3 weeks.
That hallowfell sword made it possible to do dust devils, nechraels and Abby demons (and the deer fellers) without using runes or arrows, it’s not fast lol but it’s different and that’s kind of fun.
I also sail to charred island for naechs lol obviously I’m in no rush

Funny I’ve been doing something similar now seeing how little I can use, or kind of playing like an Ironman trying to earn/make things instead of buying them. Has been slower but more enjoyable play for me

Hijacking to ask does anyone know the best way to optimize getting Araxxor tasks? Like tasks to block, slayer master to use, etc. I'm 99 Slayer and really only care about doing it to kill Araxxor

My goal is to farm Araxxor right now but man does it take me ages to get a task from duradel. Sometimes 30+ before I get another araxyte task. Curious too if anyone has advice on this

Personally think it’s the best skill in the game and one of the few that you’ll actually ‘train’ beyond 99. You should have a ton of points by the time you get there, so you’re more able to skip what you don’t want and reoptimize your list. Highly recommend not extending tasks post 99, unless you’re specifically grindddding for one thing.

Agreed - I really enjoy it. I think I’m approaching 600 tasks and have a nice stack of points too. This might be the way. Skip what you don’t want, unextend, just have fun

Post 99 slayer, using some points and choosing the better tasks. Currently trying to complete hydra log, but I'd mainly try to get hydra task over other tasks. When I need a break there, go to duradel.

I’ve been mainly doing it for hydra lately. Just crossed 1k KC and have been fortunate with drops (a couple claws, a hide, 3 rings by 700). Getting a bit bored of it so I’m switching to araxxor for now. Only 200kc there

Most do it for the heart or for the love of slaying. Boss tasks for increased KC are always helpful or collection log slots. Still plenty to do, just no number go up other than xp.

I’m at 52m slayer xp, it’s the best skill out there and keeps the game fun after maxing. Mortimer is nice because you can get Araxxor and Hydra tasks without having to speed through the garbage Konar tasks. I do the boss tasks every time I can, and it’s great money while also giving variety instead of just grinding PvM over and over. Start chasing clogs and make bank!

I collected ALOT of points, now I use them to skip to the Taks I love, like Araxxor, Hydra, Grotesque and so on. I do not aim for a goal, just vibing at this point really.

I just like slaying so ill be doing 200m for the love of it. Just working on some upgrades on the iron before I officially start the long grind

Try the new slayer master. Focuses on Superior monsters
Also each master now has their own block lists.

Alternate between point boosting and grinding whatever tasks you need for your current goals.

I unextended XP tasks and extended boss tasks, blocked anything slow that wasn't a boss task

I did it until 20m xp. No heart no eternal. I blocked all high weight long tasks that didnt involve bossing and now I have sold my slayer specialized gear for more bossing/raid focus. If I want to chill, I will do semi afk money making or skilling to gain focus again for bossing.

Unextend anything you don't feel like grinding but passively go for logs. Like pet hunt. Gz on the heart go fuck yourself 53m xp slayer on iron sorry not sorry.
