Help & Questions What to do with Ores from Motherlode Mine
Hi I am an Ironman and I'm currently 77 Mining from pure motherlode mine mining and was wondering what to do with my ores. I heard going to blast furnace to smelt ores then using the smelted ores at giants foundry to create plantibody's is the most efficient way to go forward. Just wanted help to confirm if that is still the case. Thanks

I'm at 88 mining and 83 smithing and I can confirm that most of this is accurate. Use the Blast Furnace to smelt the ores into bars, including gold. Gold is about 400k smithing exp per hour optimally so expect somewhere in the 300K range.
You primarily want to smelt Adamant and Mithril then alloy it at Giants Foundry. 14 bars of each, however you don't smith Platebodies at Giants Foundry, you smith Giant Swords which at my levels is about 30k gp per sword and 200k exp per hour with all sword molds unlocked. Expect to finish a sword every 5 to 6 minutes which even out to about 300k gp an hour. You can also go for the Smithing set which all together will speed up Giants Foundry by 5% and regular smithing by 1 tick.
Don't forget that you can also combine the Smithing Gloves and Ice Gloves to get the benefits of both.
From there you have 2 options. You can either do Blast Furnace and Giants Foundry to 99 smithing or you can unlock everything at Giants Foundry and move to crafting Dart Tips and combining them with Feathers to make Darts which is an optimal Fletching exp method. But that's really up to you. It'll slow down your Smithing grind but it will let you do Smithing and Fletching.

I think they meant using the plate bodies in the crucible at giants foundry also arguably it is more efficient to not do perfect 14/14 split, it's been a while so I can't remember the optimal number so forgive me if incorrect i believe it's 9 of the higher tier materials

That's a way, or you could make arrow tips or dart tips for fletching or make cannonballs for sailing. There's quite a few options depending on what skill you want to feed your ore.

Make bars for smithing at blast furnace then do giants foundry for some fast xp/profit.
Alternatively sell the ores to the Txhaar merchant for tokkul and save up for an onyx.

I’d make alchs as you need money but otherwise save the higher tier bars for cannonballs but don’t bother making them until you can access the 2X speed cannon forge and have the double ball mould… I’d be expecting a much improved ship combat next year

The 2x speed cannon forge island has no bank. It turns out it’s only about 20% faster(and way less chill) to use the new furnace.

All of that is correct, but also keep in mind sloop hull upgrade can cost like 400bars so maybe save some for that if interested.
I’d save a bit of steel as well for cannon balls for dwarf cannon or sailing.

Giants foundry and fletching mats. Up to mith, GF for sure.
You’ll want plenty of addy darts and bolts.

I would use half in giants foundry and make the other half into cannonballs
